Newey In Trouble

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We didn't see how Newey lost the most of his chips, but were there for a smaller pot where he decided not to call all in.

On a board of {9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Diamonds} it was Newey who bet out 1,500 from the big blind. His sole opponent, the one guy he probably needed to fold, was Olivier Busquet on the button. Last years €10,000 High Roller runner up made the call though.

The {J-Diamonds} completed the board and with about 10,600 behind, Newey checked his option. Busquet threw in 20,000 to set Newey all in. This years €50,000 Super High Roller runner up instantly folded and decided to continue play with about 26 big blinds.

Spindler Mucks

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

[Removed:551] opened under the gun to 1,000 and Benny Spindler three bet from the cutoff to 2,600. Alexandre Amiel on the button made it 4,900 and both blinds and [Removed:552] folded. Spindler made the call.

Both players checked the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop and Spindler bet out 5,200 on the {9-Clubs} turn. Amiel made the call almost immediately. The {9-Hearts} completed the board and Spindler bet out 11,500 after some thinking. Amiel immediately called. Spindler mucked, Amiel did the same.

Hunichen Has Heart

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

We arrived at the table to see Josip Simunic bet out 2,700 from the big blind. Chris Hunichen then raised it up to 8,500 from under the gun plus one and was called moments later.

The {2-Clubs} on the turn saw Simunic check his option as the decision fell on Hunichen.

“Can I see your blues please,” asked Hunichen, wanting to know how many chips his opponent had in his stack.

Simunic cut out his chips to show Hunichen who used his new found knowledge to move all in for over 60,000 in chips. The bet had Simunic covered and took him by surprise.

“I don’t know how I can fold,” said Simunic, before calling for his tournament life.

Simunic: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Hunichen: {k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Simunic had made a great call with two pair but was up against Hunichen’s flush draw. The dealer then exposed the {7-Hearts} on the river to give Hunichen the flush and give him the winning hand.

Cheong Three Bets the Flop

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante

Joseph Cheong opened before the break to 800 and Ankush Mandavia on the button made the call. The small blind made the call as well and checked to Cheong on {4-Spades}{7-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. Cheong made a bet of 1,500 and Mandavia folded right away.

The small blind check raised to 3,300 though. That wasn't the end of it as Cheong three bet to 8,000. The small blind made the call. Both players checked the {Q-Clubs} on the turn and the {10-Spades} popped up on the river. The small blind bet out 12,800 and Cheong folded to get to his 20-minute break.

Mandavia Busts Haxton

Nível 5 : 200/400, 50 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

Right before the break we walked up to Isaac Haxton's table, but the Team PokerStars Pro Online player just got up and left the tournament area. He might be back later, but he'll have to pony up another €10,000 to get back in the tournament.

Ankush Mandavia was busy stacking the chips. Upon request he told us that Haxton had opened from middle position to 700 and the cutoff had three bet to 1,500. From the small blind Mandavia had made it 5,100 with {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} and Haxton had shoved for 14,200. The cutoff folded but Mandavia made the call.

Haxton had turned out to go to battle with {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} but wouldn't win the showdown. Mandavia, who started a little late after a long night of online poker, already up to 65,000.
