Ariel Mantel got things underway with a raise to 600 from under the gun plus one. He was called by the player in middle position as well as the big blind.
The flop came down and the big blind checked. Mantel threw out a continuation bet of 1,300 in chips before the player in middle position raised it up to 3,500. The big blind moved out of the way and Mantel paused for a moment. He then reached for his chips and bumped it up to 8,500 which was called before both players saw the drop on the turn.
Mantel didn’t slow down, betting out 16,500. His opponent then moved all in for 40,825 and he snap called for less.

Mantel had flopped the bottom end of the straight and was drawing dead against his opponents flopped broadway straight. The meaningless comlpeted the board resulting in the Argentine hitting the rail.
Govert Metaal is an easily identifiable player with his slick hair and a posh fedora on. He's a regular on the European Poker Tour (Super) High Rollers as well, so we had our eyes on him from the get go. That, and we speak the same language.
Metaal didn't start out too good today losing a rather big hand to an opponent with top set. It almost really went sour as he just got it in with just two outs left in the deck and only one card to go.
Metaal told us he had an open raise to 1,300 and a call in front of him and he squeezed to 4,800 with pocket nines. Both opponents made the call and Metaal bet 7,500 on . Just one opponent stuck around.
A fell on the turn and Metaal's opponent checked. The number 11 of the Dutch All Time Money List shoved all in and got called. It turned out Metaal's opponent had pocket fives for a turned set and Metaal was in dire straits for one of the two remaining nines in the deck.
Well, wouldn't you know it, the river was a nine and Metaal got what he asked for; a rivered set, and so he doubled. His opponent was left behind with about 16,000.
The clock makes mention of 174 players at the moment. Last year the total amount was 176 so there are only two more entries needed to break that record. With a full day of being able to (re)enter, that record will be easily smashed. It's huge, and there are a lot of players playing that we've never seen before in a High Roller.
On a flop of there was already 10,675 in the middle and Isaac Haxton under the gun had the option. The Team PokerStars Pro Online player made a bet of 3,300, a bet that was quickly called by French player Jean-Noel Thorel on the button.
The 7,500 bet on the turn made by Haxton was called by Thorel as well. The fell on the river and Haxton, after some time tanking, moved all in. Thorel folded and said he had queens. "Two red ones right?" asked Haxton, sort of indicating he had the two black ones.
"I don't want to see a king," Thorel said, "you have two jack or ace-king". Haxton one more time said he had queens but Thorel wasn't convinced. Dan Shak at the same table said he believed Haxton had two queens and Thorel accepted the situation. He was right back at it the next hand, raising a flop after som epre flop action and taking it down.
Zo Karim raised to 900 from under the gun before Ioannis Apostolidis made it 6,600 from the next seat over. Athanasios Hubertus Fergiatakis was in middle position and cold called the over raised bet before Karim quickly got out of the way.
The flop came down and Apostolidis threw out an oversized continuation bet totalling 18,800 in chips. Fergiatakis thought about his decision for several minutes before finally folding his hand.
“If you go all in I call,” said Apostolidis.
“Sure!” “I don’t think so,” replied Fergiatakis. “Show the bluff,” he added before Apostolidis tossed his cards away.
[Removed:17] opened to 900 from middle position and Zo Karim in the big blind was the only caller.
Karim check called a bet of 1,200 on and both players checked the on the turn. The completed the board and Karim checked to Yan. The man from New Zealand bet out 1,900 and Karim wasted not much time to call. Yan tabled and Karim mucked.
Despite Yan winning and Karim losing, Yan is still down for the day and Karim is still up a bit from the 50,000 starting stack.
We arrived at the table with the board already spread out .
Juha Helppi had checked his option from the big blind before watching Ari Engel throw out 11,200 from the cut off. Helppi thought for a moment before making the call.
Engel then tabled his for two pair but it would not be good enough as Helppi rolled over his for a higher two pair.
There have been four re entries so far. Ariel Mantel, Mikita Badziakouski, Akin Tuna and WSOP runner up Felix Stephensen al entered, busted, and re entered so far. The total amount of entries stands at 178 right now, so last years record has already been broken.
The €10,000 High Roller in Barcelona at the start of the season saw a total of 393 entries. Ihar Soika won that tournament for €747,200. The one in EPT London was won by Andrew Chen, he got £394,200 after beating a field with 173 entries.
