London poker was once all about “The Vic”, the Grosvenor Casino on Edgware Road in central London which was once the only game in town. Then came the internet. In the years since London has become one of poker’s biggest hubs, a meeting point for refugees and exiles brought here by a legal climate still at odds with the poker zeitgeist. They come here hoping for a chance of making a living at the game and find when they get here that quite a few others have had the same idea, as the PokerStars Blog reports:
Simon Deadman is wielding his stack to good effect, chipping up nicely. First he called a 8,000 open from Benjamin Roberts and the big blind came along to see a three-way flop of . Roberts continued for a bet of 23,000 but that didn’t shake the other players off.
The turn card was checked around and on the river a small 15,000 bet from Deadman picked up the pot.
Deadman opened the next pot for 16,000 and Kevin Killeen defended his big blind. A flop of was checked and a turn card saw Killeen check-fold to a 32,000 bet.
Next up was Alexander Trevallion defending his big blind from a Deadman raise. A flop of saw Deadman take it down with a continuation bet.

Benny Spindler's one of Germany's most successful poker players with $4.2 million in live tournament cashes alone and it looks like he's going to add quite a lot to it here in London.
Spindler has been on a roll lately and that means he's still alive to become the first ever winner of two EPTs in the same city after taking down this event in 2011 for £750,000.
Just now it was Canadian Marco Caza who raised to 17,000 and Chris Moorman called from his immediate left. Spindler called from the button and the flop brought out . Caza fired out another 38,000 and that got Moorman to fold while Spindler made the call.
The turn brought the and Caza fired out 58,000 and Spindler once again called. The board completed on the river when the popped up and Caza check-folded when Spindler took control with a bet of 100,000.

Whilst they might not be the first to accomplish the feat, with 50 players left in the Main Event there are a number of players who could win their second #EPT title this week:
Marek Uharcek was all in and at risk for his last 108,000 before the flop against Bram Haenraets. The cards were revealed to find Uharcek in need to help heading to the community cards.

The dealer fanned a flop of , giving Uharcek a bit more hope with an open-ended straight draw. He got there without a sweat, as the dropped down on the turn and filled his straight to the king. The finished off the board and Uharcek scored a double to about 235,000.
