Ponakovs Loses Two in a Row
Nível 35
: Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante
Aleksejs Ponakovs limped in Q♥10♦ from the small blind and Barny Boatman checked his option with J♦9♥ in the big blind. The flop then fell 7♥J♣8♣ and saw Ponakovs check to Boatman, who made a bet of 500,000.
Ponakovs flicked in a call and the A♥ turn appeared. Both players checked to the 7♣ river, which was also knuckled down. Boatman's pair won him the pot as he extended his lead by just a bit.
The next hand, Ponakovs raised the button to 800,000 and David Kaufmann looked at A♥6♥ in the big blind, which he shipped all in for 6,425,000. A quick fold followed from Ponakovs, seeing him chip down to a seven-figure stack.
