Grafton Holds On to Bust Faraut
Sam Grafton bet 5,500 from the hijack on a flop of 7♦2♠6♦ and Bryan Paris folded in the cutoff, but Patrick Faraut stuck around and called from the button.
The turn was the 3♣ and Grafton led out for another 10,000. Faraut then moved all in for 52,000.
"Tough spot," Grafton said as he tanked for more than a minute while cameras surrounded the table. He eventually called and turned over 8♠8♥, finding himself ahead of Faraut's A♦5♦.
Grafton needed to avoid Faraut's straight and flush draws on the river as the dealer turned over the K♣, securing the pot for Grafton. The stacks were counted down and Grafton barely had Faraut covered, sending him to the rail. "Unlucky, sir," Grafton told Faraut.
"Such a nitroll. I should've done this. Eights, let's go," Grafton said, motioning as if he was slamming his chips in the middle.
EPT Barcelona champ and Grafton's now-fellow Team PokerStars Pro Simon Wiciak has recently joined this table.
