268 Players Return to Battle for FPS High Roller Title
Welcome to PokerNews coverage of Day 6 of the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris at Le Palais des Congres in cooperation with Le Club Barrière Paris, featuring Day 2 of the €2,200 France Poker Series High Roller.
In accordance with the rest of the festival, the tournament attracted impressive numbers, gaining a total of 1,794 entries across two starting flights, which generated a total prize pool of €3,444,480.
The Day 1a field of 1,250 entries surpassed the numbers for the entire 2023 edition by itself, and after an arduous two-hour bubble, 187 players progressed, with Mercedes Osti and Floyd Rosner just missing out. Players such as Anton Wigg, Jon Kyte and PokerStars Ambassador Benjamin Spragg were amongst those who took a shot but didn’t make Day 2.
The Day 1b turbo flight attracted 544 players and after another lengthy bubble, 81 players progressed, with Shakhabiddin Muradov and Milan Popovic exiting at the end of the flight. Players such as Kenny Hallaert, Maxime Chilaud and Bryan Paris all fired a bullet but didn’t make the cut.
A total of 268 players will return for Day 2, representing roughly 15% of the field, all of whom are guaranteed to be in the money. Full details of the payouts will be available as soon as they are announced.
The podium at the end of Day 1a comprised Yves Bianchetti (855,000), Yunsheng Sun (839,000) and Daniel Neilson (787,000), while Omar Del Pino (928,000), Alessandro Pichierri (786,000) and Lukas Hafner (728,000) were the top three in Day 1b.
Neilson has the most impressive resume of those players, with almost $4,000,000 in recorded live earnings, while Del Pino, with recorded live earnings of over $770,000, enters Day 2 as the overall chip leader.

Other notable names who remain in the hunt for the title include Leo Margets, Antoine Saout, Ankit Ahuja and PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot.
Day 2 is set to begin today at noon local time and we will play down to a winner.
Play will resume with ten seconds left on Level 18 (the level that Day 1a ended on), which features 4,000/8,000 blinds with an 8,000 big blind ante. The blinds in Level 19 will increase to 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante.

It has been confirmed that victory in the EPT FPS High Roller will land the champion the princely sum of €544,970 along with the trophy, while a minimum cash will boost player's bankrolls by €3,340.
A spot at the final table will earn each player a guaranteed €49,460.

Vladas Tamasauskas moved all in for 31,000 under the gun and Liviu Bartha reshoved for 40,000 next to act. While Julien Sitbon was tanking from the button, tablemate Ehsan Amiri gave Tamasauskas the genie's bottle he uses as a card protector. "This is your James Bond moment," Amiri said as he filmed Tamasauskas rubbing it for good luck. Sitbon eventually reshoved and the blinds folded.

Tamasauskas made a pair on the 9♦10♦5♠ flop and stayed in the lead through the 5♥ turn and 8♠ river to triple up. Bartha took the side pot off Sitbon, leaving both of them short stacked.

Ludovic Da Cunha in the big blind immediately moved all in for around 65000. Ogita made the quick call, with Da Cunha at risk.

Siljander Spikes the Turn For a Double Knockout

Jiaze Li moved all in for 54,000 under the gun, Andras Balogh reshoved for 102,000 in the cutoff, and Mathias Siljander called in the small blind to put both opponents at risk.
