With 184 players remaining and the next pay jump coming after one more elimination, Julen Lijo moved all in for 69,000 from an early position but did not appear too pleased about it. Abraham Serrano was on his immediate left mulling over his options, and while that happened, a player on another table had busted to Lijo's delight. Serrano called and the cards went on their backs.
Julen Lijo: A♣4♦
Abraham Serrano: A♥J♠
Lijo boosted his chances of making the next pay jump, which comes when 143 players remain, as he paired his four on the 8♠6♠4♥ flop. The 6♣ turn did bring in some counterfeit outs but the 2♥ river ensured his survival.
Eric Sfez raised to 18,000 in early position and Tamas Balogh called on the button. Deborah Nizard then three-bet to 108,000 in the big blind and Sfez moved all in for 271,000. Balogh folded, but Nizard called to put Sfez at risk.
Eric Sfez: K♦K♥
Deborah Nizard: 7♠7♥
Sfez was ahead with his kings and Nizard couldn't find any help on the 10♠3♠3♦Q♠6♥ board as Sfez doubled up.
Jason Wheeler and Simone Andrian are also at this table.
Lucas Scafini opened to 16,000 from under the gun before Emika Senda three-bet to 40,000 on his direct left. Action folded back to Scafini who jammed as the big stack. Senda double-checked her cards and committed the 180,000 more she had behind.
Emika Senda: Q♥Q♠
Lucas Scafini: A♥K♥
A classic flip was on the cards and it was one that Scafini would win as he paired up on the A♣9♦5♦3♥J♠ runout to secure the pot and elimination.
Joern Madsen was all in for 100,000 in middle position, Elie Saad put his last 380,000 in from the cutoff, and Eduard Barsegyan had both players covered and at risk from early position.
Joern Madsen: J♦J♠
Elie Saad: A♣A♠
Eduard Barsegyan: Q♥Q♦
Saad had picked up aces and was a big favorite to take down the massive three-way all in. The board ran out 4♠K♣3♥2♠4♥ and Saad held on to double up off Barsegyan while sending Madsen to the rail.
Action folded to Fouad Rabahie who moved all in for 83,000 on the button. Domenico Tataranno tanked for more than a minute before calling in the small blind, while Sylwester Fortuna quickly folded his big blind.
Fouad Rabahie: 9♦6♥
Domenico Tataranno: A♥A♦
"That was for you," Tataranno said to Fortuna.
"Sorry," Rabahie told him, apologizing in advance for any possible bad beat. The flop came 5♦J♠8♣ to give Rabahie a straight draw, but he missed the J♥ turn and 10♣ river as Tataranno sent him to the rail.
Davidi Kitai's hot start to Day 2 continued after taking some chips from Georgios Vrakas.
Kitai opened to 16,000 from early position and action folded to Vrakas in the big blind. He flicked his shades from his forehead to his eyes and called.
Vrakas check-called for 15,000 on the Q♦8♦7♣ flop, which brought in the 2♥ turn. Vrakas, with 80,000 behind, checked and Kitai put him all in. Vrakas immediately removed his sunglasses and proceeded to grimace and agonize for the next few minutes. In the end, he let his hand go.
Pierre Calamusa raised to 16,000 in early position before Alessandro Merelli three-bet to 41,000 in the cutoff. Calamusa moved all in for around 280,000 and Merelli called.
Pierre Calamusa: A♥Q♠
Alessandro Merelli: K♥K♠
Calamusa was looking for an ace to stay alive against Merelli's kings, but none arrived on the 5♠4♥J♣5♣8♠ board and Calamusa was sent to the rail.
