Seat 1: Gabi Livshitz, Israel – 6,050,000

Gabi Livshitz
Gabi Livshitz

Gabi Livshitz has been playing mind sports since he was a child. He started with chess when he turned five. Since then, he's made it to the high ranks of most talented chess players, earning the International Master title back in 2002. His current ELO rating is 2,446.

More importantly, though, Livshitz has been able to adapt his skills to excel in poker like several other chess competitors, such as PokerStars Ambassador Jen Shahade. Livshitz has been pretty good at playing cards, having accumulated $1.6 million in career earnings.

Ranked tenth on the Israeli all-time money list, Livshitz has already been to an EPT Main Event final table (fourth for €316,780 at EPT Prague 2019). While he won't top that score here at FPS Monte Carlo, the 39-year-old can get quite close to matching his best result.

He has one six-figure score to his name, dating back to 2015 when he finished runner-up in for $190,000 at a Merit event in Cyprus. But he's also been to a PokerStars-sponsored branded tour final table, notching €52,050 for 6th place at Eureka Prague 2014.

The 30-year-old is a well-versed grinder with numerous five-figure online cashes and a WCOOP title under his belt.

Virgile Turchi was the chip leader heading into Day 3 and he turned his advantage into earning a seat among the final six, even though he had a few ups and downs on the way to his first major final table.

As a young online grinder, Turchi first dipped into live waters at the PSPC Experience events in Aix-en-Provence and Divonne when he was 18. Then he moved to Liverpool, where he shared an apartment with other French players.

He kept progressing very quickly ever since, buxt, due to covid, we wouldn’t start seeing him on the European circuit until 2022. So far, he’s racked up over $400,000 in live winnings, and now he’ll pick up the biggest prize of his career.

Remy Murcia hails from Nice, so he will enjoy playing his first major final table in what is considered the home event for Provence residents.

Murcia first competed in online fields before he discovered live action, but now he can be seen mainly in the local casinos near his home – in Cannes and Aix-en-Provence.

But he’s also been to Las Vegas and Mauritius, and the overseas trips helped him gain the experience needed to succeed in live tournaments. With his previous biggest payday at €18,600, he’s guaranteed to set a new career-best result.

Seat 5: Guillaume Nolet, Canada – 10,500,000

Guillaume Nolet
Guillaume Nolet

From Montreal, Guillaume Nolet is no stranger to big final tables. He once made it to a 4-way deal in the World Championship of Online Poker Main Event. That run in September 2015 saw him add a whopping $1,223,000 to his PokerStars account.

Known as "Nolet20" in the virtual realm, the 35-year-old Quebecois has proved his abilities countless times. He boasts multiple six-figure scores, one of them coming in last year's WCOOP.

Nolet is a versatile grinder with a ton of live experience too. 2019 was his strongest showing on the live felt; all top four scores come from that year. In total, he's racked up nearly $1.7 million, according to The Hendon Mob. He has played high buy-in events worldwide, but he's yet to win a PokerStars-sponsored live event.

Seat 6: Marco Gambini, Italy – 9,525,000 (PokerStars Qualifier)

Marco Gambini
Marco Gambini

Marco Gambini was a professional sommelier at the turn of the century, now he owns a shop specializing in energy systems and aggregation. He's also pretty good at poker, which he picked up 15 years ago. Gambini, who lives on the Adriatic coast, has won a TCOOP event at PokerStars.it.

Now, trying to take the live scene by storm, Gambini still uses online poker as a gateway to live events. He's qualified for multiple tournaments around the world and won packages for both FPS and EPT Main Events here. "Monte Carlo is the place to be," he says.

It's been a fantastic trip for the 49-year-old. An avid salsa dancer, Gambini waltzed through the FPS field thanks to a few desirable runouts. On the last two tables, he spiked a three on the river to eliminate two opponents and vaulted into chip lead at the time. "I've been lucky to get here," he said, saying the stars have seem to be aligned for him so far.
