Malinov's Ace is Good

Nível 1 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Kayhan Mokri opened to 2,500 first to act and was called by Atanas Malinov in the big blind.

Malinov check-called a 2,000 bet from Mokri on the Q67 flop and a 13,000 bet from Mokri on the A turn.

Malinov checked on the Q river after using up his entire 30 seconds and Mokri said, "Alright, whatever," and checked behind.

Malinov tabled A8 for a turned pair of aces and Mokri sent his hand into the muck.

Folding Pocket Kings???

The 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour is in full swing at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel and Spa, with the $5,300 Main Event currently midway through Day 2.

After late registration closed earlier, the series showstopper recorded 1,284 entries and generated a $6,227,400 prize pool, of which more than $1 million awaits the eventual champion. One player looking to do all it takes to become the next EPT Champion is Peter Tschernigg. The Austrian poker player has just over $30,000 in live earnings and found himself in a horrible spot preflop, with the tournament just a few dozen eliminations away from the money.

Those who survive the day will advance to Day 2. Those that don't can still partake in the final day as registration will remain open until the start of play on Day 2.

Players will start with a stack of 250,000 and blinds begin at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. Today, there will be only one 15-minute break after Level 4 and no dinner break.

Shot clocks will also be in play from the start of the event, with players being allowed 15 seconds to act on their first decision, then 30 seconds in every subsequent decision in each hand.

A total of six time bank cards will be given to each player at the time they take their seat, then they will receive one additional time bank card at the start of every odd level.

Stay tuned as PokerNews will deliver live updates straight from the tournament floor, keeping you informed on all the action as it unfolds.
