Mark Helou shoved for his last 270,000 from the cutoff and was called by Jon Kyte in the small blind and Cheng Zhao in the big blind.
“I need luck. Luck is what I need!” Helou said.
Both players checked on the 7♦10♥9♠ flop and then Zhao called a 200,000 bet from Kyte on the 10♠ turn.
It was checked down on the Q♥ river and Kyte tabled 4♥4♦. Zhao turned A♠7♣ for a pair of sevens, and Helou triumphantly revealed K♦J♥ for a straight and tripled his stack.
"Very lucky river. If I bet small I call, but not with an overbet," Jon Kyte said, still discussing his prior hand with Adam Wagner as he raised to 110,000 under the gun.
"Showed me a lot of respect," Wagner replied.
Padraig O'Neill called in the big blind and they went heads-up to the 7♣4♣10♦ flop. Kyte then bet 75,000 and O'Neill called.
The turn was the K♣ and Kyte bet 150,000. O'Neill again called and the J♠ fell on the river. Kyte then bet 450,000.
O'Neill called and Kyte showed A♣9♦ for ace-high. O'Neill had 9♥8♣ for the rivered straight to win the pot.
"You both get lucky on the river. I thought I was the one to get lucky," Kyte said after the hand.
Serge Chechin limped in with 9♣9♠. Grigorii Rodin and Govert Metaal did the same with 5♦4♦ and J♦8♣ from the hijack and button. Marle Spragg also called from the small blind with A♥2♦ and Preben Stokkan checked his option with 9♦4♠.
Metaal made trips on the 8♥8♦4♥ flop. The blinds checked and Chechin bet 125,000. Rodin and Metaal called before Spragg and Stokkan folded.
The 3♦ turn gave Rodin a huge combo draw but kept Metaal ahead. Chechin put another 150,000 into the pot. Rodin made it 300,000, and Metaal jammed for his last 630,000. Chechin called after using a time bank and Rodin also called.
The Q♠ river then checked through to showdown and Metaal bagged a huge triple up.
Jon Kyte opened to 105,000 from the cutoff and was called by Adam Wagner in the big blind.
Wagner check-called a 180,000 bet from Kyte on the 4♣6♦2♣ flop and then both players checked on the 5♦ turn.
The 8♦ completed the board and Wagner checked once more. Kyte bet 620,000 and Wagner tanked for some time before announcing he was all for 1,470,000 total.
“Aye, what a set up!” Kyte said and he pondered his decision.
Eventually, Kyte decided to lay his hand down, “I can’t pay you off,” Kyte said. ‘If it was a chop, you played it well.”
Umberto Ruggeri opened from the cutoff to 100,000 with 8♠8♦ and called when Grigorii Rodin three-bet to 275,000 from the button with 10♣7♣.
Ruggeri made a set on the A♦8♥2♠ flop and check-called for 150,00. The 6♠ turn gave Rodin a gutshot and fired out another 325,000 after Ruggeri checked. The latter just called again.
The 4♦ completed the board, and Ruggeri continued to slow play his set and checked. Rodin moved all in for Ruggeri's last 1,110,000 and the Italian snap-called for a double up.
Max Neugebauer raised to 100,000 in the cutoff before Jon Kyte moved all in from the small blind. Dejan Jakovljevic tanked for a moment in the big blind before calling for his last 850,000, while Neugebauer also called for around 800,000.
Max Neugebauer: A♠K♣
Dejan Jakovljevic: 9♠9♣
Jon Kyte: K♠5♠
"I f**ked up," Kyte said after Neugebauer called. The flop came 2♣K♦7♠, giving Kyte and Neugebauer top pair but Neugebauer remained in front with his ace-kicker.
The turn was the K♥ and both players improved to trips. "See? Cooler, trips against trips," Kyte joked with Neugebauer. "I'll take a deuce. I'm not greedy," Kyte added.
The day belongs to Kyte, however, as the 5♥ spiked on the river to give him a full house and send both players to the rail.
"Don't film me any more. It's ridiculous," Kyte said, hiding his face as both Jakovljevic and Neugebauer were sent to the rail. Neugebauer took 15th, while Jakovljevic finished 14th with the bigger stack.
Umberto Ruggeri opened to 100,000 with 8♠7♠ from early position, and Grigorii Rodin called on his direct left with 9♠9♣. Cheng Zhao picked up another premium in the form of K♠K♦ and three-bet to 500,000. Ruggeri folded before Rodin did the same.
