A big pot had brewed on Table 6 between Ian Drake and Luigi D'Alterio. There was 18,000 in the pot on the completed board. Ian Drake checked in the small blind before D'Alterio fired for 11,000 from the button. Drake quickly called.
Drake had the for a set of sevens, but it was no good as his opponent had the for the jack-high straight.
Jonathan Ampoulie was seen gathering his things to make his way towards the door while Jordan Saccucci was stacking up the rest of his chips. The board read and the dealer was mucking Ampoulie's while D'Alterio won with for kings and jacks.
Elsewhere, Tomas Macnamara was in the tank on the button with around 5,000 in the middle and on the board. Luigi D'Alterio had bet 4,500, but it was too much and Macnamara got away from it. D'Alterio is now up to double the starting stack as Level 1 nears its end.
Pierre Gineste opened to 300 from under the gun and was called by Omar Abidat from the cutoff. Patrik Jaros then three-bet to 1,800 from the small blind and both players called.
Jaros continued for another 1,800 on the flop and only Gineste called. Jaros then sized up to 5,000 on the turn and again Gineste made the call.
The river prompted Jaros to slow down and check. He then folded after Gineste bet 12,500.
Action was heads up with around 8,000 in the middle and on the board when Matthieu Teffaud emerged from deep in the tank to call a 6,500 bet from Avner Sebbah. Sebbah turned over to take the pot with the flush and Teffaud tossed the losing hand in the muck.
On another table, action was heads up with 10,000 in the middle and on the board when Andrii Kozlenko shoved 18,000 from the small blind. Morten Klein went deep into the tank for several minutes.
Klein began to poke around for information.
"Do you have the aces? Two queens? Kings?"
Klein eventually called and the cards were turned up. He turned over and Kozlenko had .
"All that drama for nothing!" said another player in table talk.
There was 2,500 in the middle on the board. Ludovic Heude checked from the big blind and 2022 EPT London Main Event winner Ian Hamilton checked back from the button.
On the river Heude check-folded after Hamilton fired for 2,000.
With 4,800 in the middle on the flop, Tibor Nagygyorgy and Viliyan Petleshkov checked from the big blind and under the gun respectively.
Jack Corrigan fired for 1,000 from the cutoff which prompted Nagygyorgy to raise to 3,600. Both remaining players quickly folded and he dragged in the pot.
There was a blind versus blind battle between Paulius Jucys and Luis Faria that had little action until the river.
With the completed board on show. Jucys checked from the small blind. Faria then bet 6,000 into a pot of 2,600. Jucys, undeterred by the overbet, made it 13,500 and Faria quickly folded.
