€5,300 EPT Paris Main Event

Dia 1a Iniciado

Welcome to Day 1a of the €5,300 EPT Paris Main Event

EPT Paris Main Event Trophy
EPT Paris Main Event Trophy

It is a brand new day at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris, and Day 1a of the €5,300 EPT Paris Main Event is set to begin at 12 p.m. local time, inside the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile.

Two marquee PokerStars events have already played out this year, with the PCA and PSPC wrapping up just a few weeks ago. Michel Dattani and Aliaksandr Shylko were the victors of those events, and have already tested their skills on the felt in the French Capital. They're just two of the notable names that are expected to make up a star-studded lineup.

Dattani collected $1,316,963 for his PCA Main Event triumph, while Shylko pocketed $3,121,838 for his PSPC victory. Another seven-figure first-place prize is expected this time around as well.

The EPT Paris Main Event comes with a €5,300 buy-in and has two starting flights. Due to French regulations, players are only permitted a maximum of two entries across Day 1a and Day 1b.

The plan for the Day 1s is to play ten 60-minute levels, with late registration closing at the start of Level 11 on Day 2. There will be a 20-minute comfort break every two levels and the 75-minute dinner break is scheduled to take place after Level 6 (approx. 6:40 p.m. local time). All entrants will be given a 30,000 starting stack, which is good for 300 big blinds.

Players should note that there is already a waiting list for Day 1a of the Main Event; however, plenty of seats are available for Day 1b.

Panagiotidis Wins With Turn Bet; Frerejacques Gives One Up

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Action was heads up with 2,800 in the middle and {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} on the board when Lucas Parisot bet 800 from out of position before Vasileios Panagiotidis called. The turn was {8-Hearts} and Parisot check-folded when Panagiotidis tossed out 3,100.

Meanwhile, David Frerejacques and Amaury Mamou-Mani were in a heads-up pot with around 1,500 in the middle and a full board of {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Frerejacques checked and then quickly tossed his hand into the muck when Mamou-Mani 1,100 from the button.

Marchington Flops Trips

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Julien Rouquet opened to 300 on the button and was called by Vedran Tuzlic and Nick Marchington from the blinds.

Rouquet continued for another 300 on the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, and only Marchington called.

The {5-Hearts} turn quickly checked through to the {a-Clubs} river and Marchington led out for 1,300. His opponent called after some thinking time and Marchington tabled his {j-Hearts}{7-Spades} for trips. Rouquet mucked after seeing the Englishman's hand.

Action was caught on the turn on the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board. Noah Novick checked from the small blind before Antoine Labat made a pot-sized bet of 1,400 from middle position. Novick raised to 4,000 and Labat called.

Novick then sized up to 10,000 on the {7-Hearts} river and sent Labat into the tank.

"I have a very weird feeling about your hand," said Labat as mulled over his options.

He eventually called and Novick tabled his {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs} for jack-high. Labat had a pair of queens with {q-Hearts}{j-Spades} and took the large Level 1 pot.

To the right of Labat is Stephen Song, who still has all of his starting stack intact.

Cournut Finds an Early Double

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/100, 100 ante

Victoria Livschitz raised to 400 from under the gun before a player in late position tossed in the chips to call. Jonathan Ampoulie came along from the small blind and Brice Cournut joined the action from the big blind.

All four players checked the {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop and the turn was {5-Spades}.

Ampoulie tossed out around 1,600 from the small blind and Cournut raised to 3,600 from the big blind. Livschitz and the late position player ducked out of the way and Ampoulie called.

The river was {4-Diamonds} and Ampoulie check-jammed when Cournut bet 7,000. Cournut called quickly for just under 9,000 and turned over {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a flopped set of sixes to take the pot while Ampoulie showed {10-}{8-} for the losing three tens.
