Ladev Bests Mateos in Three-Bet Pot

Markkos Ladev had opened from the button and Adrian Mateos three-bet from the big blind. Ladev called, creating a 380,000 chip pot. The flop was then dealt Q♣4♠4♦ and Maetos bet 105,000 chips. Ladev made the call and the 8♥ turn was checked by both players.

Both players knuckled the table on the K♥ river as well, and Mateos showed his J♠J♥ for a pair of jacks. However, Ladev played one pair higher with his A♣Q♦ for a pair of queens, and raked in another pot.

River Three-Bet Sees Diaz Take Chip Lead

There was a modest amount of 175,000 chips in the pot when Martin Diaz made a bet of 45,000 from the big blind on the completed board of 7♣J♥6♦8♣4♥. His opponent was Nicolas Vayssieres in middle position, who made a large raise to 280,000. Diaz asked how much Vasyssieres played before clicking it back to 515,000, almost putting his opponent all in.

Vayssieres mulled it over for a good bit before eventually passing his cards and some time bank extensions to the dealer, forfeiting the pot to Diaz, who became the new chipleader of the field.

Dmitrii Nazarov opened to 45,000 from under the gun, and Alex Peffly defended from the big blind.

On Q♦5♠6♠, Nazarov fired a first barrel of 60,000, then a second one of 125,000 on the turn 10♥. Both times, Peffly check-called.

But on the river A♥, after a check by Peffly, Nazarov decided to move all in. Peffly went into the tank, but eventually folded.

Two hands later, Peffly moved all in for 160,000 from the button, and Selahaddin Bedir called from the big blind.

Adrian Mateos raised to 40,000 from under the gun before Dmitry Yurasov three-bet to 105,000 from middle position. The action folded back to Mateos, who made the call.

Mateos checked the subsequent 5♣Q♥K♦ flop and Yurasov bet out 50,000 chips. Mateos called before the [7c turn and 7♦ river were checked by both players.

Mateos reluctantly showed 8♠8♥ but Yurasov had the higher pocket pair with J♠J♣ and won the pot.

The very next hand, Markkos Ladev raised to 40,000 from the cutoff and Mateos defended the big blind. Ladev then continuation-bet for 40,000 on the J♣4♥5♥ flop and Mateos check-called. Mateos opted for another check on the 2♠ turn before calling a larger 160,000 bet from Ladev.

The K♥ river then completed the board and Mateos checked for a third time. This time, Ladev put his opponent all in, for 500,000 chips. Mateos did not think long before folding, leaving himself with 25 big blinds.
