Joshua James raised to 400,000 and Ankit Ahuja called from the next seat over before Rolando Camardese shoved from the seat next to him. James called and Ahuja folded to set up heads-up action with Camardese at risk.
Rolando Camardese: A♣Q♣
Joshua James: K♥K♦
The board ran out J♠7♦7♠Q♥2♦ and James held on with kings to send Camardese to the exit.
With the board reading 5♠4♠Q♣K♣J♣ and about 2,500,000 already in the middle, Kevin Clement checked and was faced with a 1,600,000 bet from Diogo Ferreira, sending Clement deep into the tank.
Eventually the clock was called and shortly afterwards Clement made the call. Ferreira tabled K♦J♦ for two pair and Clement mucked his hand, leaving himself short-stacked.
Not long afterwards, Clement moved all in for his last 2,000,000 chips and was called by Luc Lafontaine who was slightly covered by Clement.
Luc Lafontaine: 9♣9♦
Kevin Clement: A♠K♠
The board ran out J♦3♥3♦7♦6♣ and Lafontaine received a full double up while Clement was left with just under two big blinds.
The very next hand, Clement moved all in again for his last 375,000 and was called once again by Lafontaine who this time had a covering stack to put Clement at risk.
Kevin Clement: Q♣Q♦
Luc Lafontaine: Q♥J♥
Clement seemed poised to double up but the 9♥5♥6♣ flop gave Lafontaine tons of equity in the form of a flush draw. The flush came in on the A♥ turn leaving Clement drawing dead to the 7♣ river. Lafontaine collected another decent pot while Clement's deep run came to an end.
Action folded around to Lucas Silva Rocha in the small blind, who slid in enough to put Braz Borges all in from the big blind. Borges struggled with a decision for his last 150,000 chips, but found the call once clock was called at the table.
Braz Borges: 9♠3♣
Lucas Silva Rocha: Q♥8♠
Borges was looking for help but found none on the 7♠A♠7♣10♦K♦ runout, eliminating him from the tournament which has now reached the final four tables.
Hanseok Ko opened to 550,000 from the small blind and Joshua James defended from the big blind.
The flop came Q♦8♣6♣ and Ko bet 525,000, receiving a call from his opponent.
Ko moved all in for 2,650,000 on the 9♥ turn. After briefly considering his options James made the call to put Ko at risk.
Hanseok Ko: Q♣7♥
Joshua James: J♣9♠
James had turned a pair of nines to go along with his gutshot straight draw but Ko was well ahead with top pair and an open-ended straight draw. The 4♣ river changed nothing and Ko secured a full double up.
Louis Nyberg raised and called when Domenico Paparo three-bet shoved with 1,750,000. The rest of the table was out of the way and action was heads up with Paparo at risk.
Domenico Paparo: A♠A♦
Louis Nyberg: K♥5♦
The board ran out 8♠2♣10♣3♥10♦ and the pocket aces held for Paparo to score the important double.
Tommy Nguyen raised to 425,000 on the button and was promptly three-bet by Avihai Smadga to 1,150,000. Nguyen made the call and action slowed down on the 2♣7♠4♣ flop.
Both players checked through to the J♦ turn and 3♥ river, with one last round of checks completing the action.
Smadga showed A♥Q♦ to take down another pot as Nguyen mucked his hand.
Theodoros Ampelikiotis moved his stack of 1,725,000 into the middle from middle position and was quickly called by Louis Nyberg to his left. Mykyta Andrusiak then announced all in from the small blind for 2,725,000 and Nyberg called that bet as well.
Theodoros Ampelikiotis: K♥Q♣
Mykyta Andrusiak: A♦K♣
Louis Nyberg: A♥10♦
Andrusaik was in great shape to begin the hand, but the 5♦8♣10♦ flop left Nyberg in the lead. The 4♦ turn brought Andrusiak the nut flush draw, but the 2♠ river was a blank.
Nyberg took down a massive pot, eliminating both Ampelikiotis and Andrusiak in the process.
