If you're looking to play a big live tournament in Pennsylvania without putting up the four-figure buy-in, there are plenty of opportunities to qualify into tournaments on PokerStars Pennsylvania. PokerStars PA is currently running Summer Series Qualfiers and awarding seats to the first-ever PokerStars Summer Series at Live! Philadelphia later this month.
The PokerStars Summer Series features $1 million in guarantees and will take place Aug. 24-Sept. 10. In the final week of August, there will be plenty of opportunities for players to satellite into the $300,000 guaranteed $1,100 NLH event and the $500,000 guaranteed $2,200 NLH event.
Players are now on a 25-minute break.
The field has swelled to 1,302 entries so far on Day 1g, with 1,178 remaining.
As the field was already preparing to head off on break, Nils Memmi found himself all in for 16,000 from middle position and up against Ivanildo Mascarenhas Limeira in the big blind.
Nils Memmi: A♣A♦
Ivanildo Mascarenhas Limeira: Q♦Q♥
Memmi was well out in front with his aces as Mascarenhas Limeira found himself on the wrong end of a cooler. The 2♦A♠5♥ flop gave Memmi top set and left Mascarenhas Limeira nearly drawing dead heading to the 10♦ turn and 4♣ river as Memmi doubled up.
Four players, including Alessandro Signoriello under the gun, Thomas Ribi in middle position, and Francesco Pagliazzo in the cutoff, saw a flop of A♦8♣8♦ when Signoriello bet 1,000.
Ribi and Pagliazzo both called and the 7♥ fell on the turn. Signoriello then led out for 8,000 this time.
Ribi removed the Snoopy figurine he uses as a card protector and peeked back at his hand before mucking. Pagliazzo also joined him in the muck as Signoriello took in the pot, flashing the A♥.
Simon Paparone opened the action to 800 in middle position and was raised to 2,000 by Romain Retiere in the highjack. The button, Eddy Curcio, called and so did Paparone as it went three ways to the flop.
The 4♠6♥9♦ hit the felt, as Paparone checked it to Retiere. He bet out 1,200 and was raised by Curcio to 2,400. Paparone then came over the top and reraised to 11500. After a little deliberation, both Retiere and Curcio folded their hands, awarding a sizeable pot to Paparone.
Sergiy Dudka bet 1,800 from under the gun on a flop of 4♠Q♣6♥ and Karim Guerroury called in the cutoff.
The turn came the 5♦ and Dudka bet another 3,100. Guerroury then moved all in for 8,200 and Dudka didn't wait too long before mucking his hand.
Adrian State and Wai Kit Chung saw the turn on a board of 8♣A♦5♣3♠ when State, in the cutoff, bet 7,000.
Chung called to the 6♠ river, where State assembled a tower of chips and pushed it into the middle, a bet totaling 22,000.
Chung went into the tank for about a minute before he mucked.
