Merivirta Lucky to Chop

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Dinesh Alt raised to 6,500 from early position before Jyri Merivirta three bet to 20,000 from middle position. Action folded around to Alt who four bet all in for around 70,000 effective. Merivirta called.

Jyri Merivirta: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Dinesh Alt: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

Merivirta was in awful shape. The flop came {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades} which helped nobody. The {a-Spades} turn gave both players top pair but Alt was still way out in front. However the river was the {10-Spades} which gave the board a flush which kept Merivirta alive with a chop pot.

Alt said to his tablemates "Feels better than a queen on the river" as both players received their share of the blinds.
