Nitsche Caught Speeding

Nível 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Dominik Nitsche raised to 18,000 in the hijack and Steve O'Dwyer defended from the big blind. The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs} and O'Dwyer check-called a bet of 16,000 from Nitsche.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and O'Dwyer checked again. Nitsche put out a large bet of 100,000 and O'Dwyer still called to see the {a-Clubs} on the river. O'Dwyer checked for the third time and Nitsche reached back for a bet of 230,000.

O'Dwyer used up four of his time extension before finally making the call. Nitsche tabled {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw while O'Dwyer showed {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} to claim the pot.

"Dom was doing 180 in a 100 zone," Nick Petrangelo commented at the table.

Malinowski Misclick Ousts Leow

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Ivan Leow
Ivan Leow

Arriving at the table, Wiktor Malinowski had opened to 12,000 and Ivan Leow had three-bet to 46,000 from the big blind.

Then, according to Malinowski, he had attempted to put chips in the middle to call, but had announced call only after releasing his chips. This meant he had 112,000 in front of him. The ruling was that the bet had to stand and Leow called.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {q-Hearts} and Leow bet 85,000. Malinowski used a time extension before calling.

Leow moved all in for 150,000 on the {a-Diamonds} river and Malinowski snap-called. Leow shook his head turning over {5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens. Malinowski held {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for a full house and eliminated Leow, moving up to around a million chips.

Mateos Eliminated by Carrel

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

"That's why I always sweat my cards one at a time," said Charlie Carrel. "You see an ace and then sometimes it's a deuce.

"But sometimes it's another ace and that's extra sweet."

Carrel's words were particularly meaningful having just eliminated Adrian Mateos with {a-}{a-} against the {a-}{10-} suited of the Spaniard.

Vogelsang Wins a Long One

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang opened to 13,000 from under the gun and was called by Sergio Aido in the hijack, Orpen Kisacikoglu in the small blind, and Nick Petrangelo in the big blind. The flop came {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Vogelsang continued for 20,000. Kisacikoglu was the only player to call as the {5-Spades} paired the board on the turn.

Kisacikoglu used a time bank before checking again and Vogelsang dropped in a bet of 50,000. Kisacikoglu called and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board. Kisacikoglu checked for the third time and Vogelsang shoved all in for 145,000. Kisacikoglu only had around 140,000 left and he went deep into the tank.

Three time banks later, Kisacikoglu eventually laid his hand down and Vogelsang collected the pot.

Malinowski Down From Starting

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a {2-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades} flop Wiktor Malinowski checked to Ahadpur Khangah who bet 19,000. Malinowski check-raised to 63,000 and Khangah quickly called.

The turn {j-Diamonds} was checked by both players and Malinowski bet 110,000 on the {9-Hearts} river. Khangah folded and the Polish player took down the pot.

Malinowski started with over a million in chips, and is still some way down from that mark, but still has a strong chip stack midway through the first level of the day.

Dvoress Scoops Massive Pot with the Nuts

The board read {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and the action was on Kazuhiko Yotsushika who shoved all in for 43,000 from the small blind. Ali Reza Fatehi called from the big blind and Daniel Dvoress used two of his time banks before calling from the button.

The river was the {k-Hearts} and Fatehi pushed all in for around 90,000. Dvoress quickly called and tabled {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for the nut flush. Fatehi revealed {q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a queen-high flush while Yotsushika had the jack-high flush.

Early Exchanges

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} river Kazuhiko Yotsushika bet 50,000 and Seth Davies raised in position to 133,000. Yotsushika took his time before calling, but was clearly unhappy to see the {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts} of his opponent for a rivered two pair.

Meanwhile, the board read {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} between Charlie Carrel - who registered at the start of the day - and Timothy Adams. Adams bet 40,000 and Carrel called.

The river was the {j-Hearts}. Adams bet 102,000 and Carrel folded. Adams started as one of the shorter stacks in the tournament but is now back to almost starting.
