De Silva Calls After Time Bank

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Upeshka De Silva started the action from the button with a raise to 12,500. Johan Rimestad and Justin Ligeri in the blinds made the call.

The flop was {8-Spades}{k-Hearts}{a-Spades} and after two checks, De Silva continued for 15,000. Only Ligeri called and both players checked on the turn {7-Clubs}.

The river brought a {3-Diamonds} and Ligeri fired 30,000, putting De Silva into a decision. After using two time banks cards, De Silva eventually called with {j-Clubs}{3-Spades} for a pair of threes and Ligeri sent {10-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} into the muck.

Leung Doubles Through Kuhlman

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Rene Kuhlman started the day with 636,000 but had chipped up to clearly over 700,000 before this hand.

Rene Kuhlman: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Hoi Hoo Leung: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}

There was no help for Kuhlman with the board coming {8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Leung doubled up.

Pecheux Out

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Very shorted stack at the beginning of the day, Erwann Pecheux pushed all in from the small blind for his last 30,000 chips with {q-Spades}{10-Spades} and was facing the big blind player holding {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

The latter found trip kings on the board to eliminate the French player who went to the cashier to collect his €8,900 prize.

Pyysing Among Early Casualties

Nível 16 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Aki Pyysing was all in for his tournament life with {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. The Finnish player had come into the day with around ten big blinds, and had gotten them in against the {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs} of Robin Hegele.

The flop {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades} gave Hegele two pair, and there was to be no miracle run out on the {4-Clubs}{8-Hearts} turn and river.

PokerStars EPT Barcelona €5,300 Main Event Gets Underway at 12pm; All Players in the Money

EPT Barcelona Main Event field
EPT Barcelona Main Event field

With the remaining 259 players in the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona €5,300 Main Event all in the money, their focus is now on how deep they can run in this record-breaking EPT ever.

All those through to Day 3 have guaranteed themselves €8,900, but will no doubt be eyeing up the €1,611,500 for first prize - a record for an EPT Main Event outside of the PCA and Monte Carlo Main Events.

Leading the way, just like on Day 1a is former EPT champion Ben Wilinofsky. Seven years ago, aged just 22, Wilinofsky took down the EPT Berlin Main Event for €825,000, defeating a final table which included then yet-to-be World Champion Martin Jacobson.

There is a familiar face at Wilinofsky's starting table; Patrick Clarke was second in chips after Day 1b, and the pair both have in excess of 100 big blinds at the start of play on Day 3. Clarke also has EPT final table experience, finishing fourth at EPT Dublin two years ago for €193,650.

According to the official schedule, there will be six 90-minute levels of play today, with a 20-minute break after each. The 75-minute dinner break is scheduled after level four.
