Peters Vanishes; Eibinger Over Two Million

Nível 12 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

The cards of David Peters were all but rushed away and Matthias Eibinger raked in the pot, having turned a seven-high straight with the {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Peters had defended his big blind and check-raised from 28,000 to 85,000 on a flop of {5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Eibinger moved all in and Peters called with {A-Diamonds}{2-} for the wheel.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn gave Eibinger the superior straight and the {10-Hearts} on the river was a blank to let Eibinger skyrocket to more than 2.2 million in chips.

Matthias Eibinger raised to 28,000 from under the gun. Patrik Antonius three-bet all in for 213,000 from the button. Byron Kaverman thought about it in the big blind, before folding and Eibinger quickly called.

Matthias Eibinger: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Patrik Antonius: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}

Yong Eliminated by Katz in "Crazy Runout"

Nível 11 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Richard Yong
Richard Yong

From Early position Cary Katz raised, tossing in a T-25,000 chip, and Richard Yong moved all in from two seats over.

"How much is it?" Katz asked. Yong's all in was for 95,000 in total and Katz sighed, but called it off, having his opponent covered by two to one.

Richard Yong: {A-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Cary Katz: {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The board came {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Katz immediately apologized.

"What a crazy runout, sorry Richard," he said in table chat. Yong replied "It's okay, thank you," and shook hands with Katz before departing the tournament area.

Aido Doubles Ferreira; Busts to Winter

Nível 11 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Jean Ferreira made it 21,000 to go first to act and was called by Jean-Noel Thorel in the hijack, Rui Neves Ferreira in the small blind and Sergio Aido in the big blind. The four-way flop of {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} brought no betting action and the {J-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Action checked to Ferreira, who bet 25,000. That forced out everyone but Aido and the Spaniard check-raised to 85,000. Ferreira used one time bank before moving all in and Aido called instantly.

Jean Ferreira: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Sergio Aido: {8-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

The {4-Hearts} on the river was meaningless as Ferreira had already secured the double with the nut flush, and his 271,000 was matched by Aido, who dropped to fewer than 20,000.

One hand later, Sean Winter raised to 20,000 and Benjamin Pollak called in the cutoff, Aido called all in. On the {Q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Hearts} flop, Winter bet 20,000 and Pollak folded.

Sergio Aido: {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Sean Winter: {K-Spades}{10-Spades}

The [5d[ turn changed nothing and the {K-Hearts} river gave Winter kings and fives, sending Aido to the rail in 24th place.

Khangah Busts Greenwood in Biggest Pot so Far

Nível 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Lucas Greenwood
Lucas Greenwood

The action started with a limp from Ahadpur Khangah in early position, who even initially just put in 4,000. From two seats over, Luc Greenwood raised to 25,000 and Khangah called. The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and Khangah checked over to Greenwood, who made it 25,000 to go.

Within just one second, Khangah had already check-raised to 145,000 and Greenwood asked for a count. He then took 25 seconds and moved all in for 550,000.

"All in?" Khangah asked over to his opponent, and once that was confirmed, he said "I call."

Luc Greenwood: {A-Spades}{6-Spades}
Ahadpur Khangah: {A-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Greenwood had plenty of outs with the nut flush draw and the better straight draw, but the {8-Diamonds} turn and {4-Diamonds} river run out failed to improve the Canadian, further boosting Khangah's big stack.

Leow Eliminated by Khangah

Nível 10 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Ivan Leow
Ivan Leow

Sean Winter limped in and Steffen Sontheimer in the cutoff made it 27,000 to go. Ahadpur Khangah in the small blind called and Ivan Leow then three-bet to 110,000. This forced out Winter and Sontheimer, while Khangah called.

On a flop of {A-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, Khangah checked his option and Leow bet 60,000 with 84,000 behind. Khangah snap-moved all in and Leow checked his remaining stack, glanced over his shoulder to look at the screen and called all in.

Ivan Leow: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Ahadpur Khangah: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

The {8-Spades} turn and {10-Clubs} river brought no miracle for Leow and he was eliminated.

Schwippert and Dvoress on the Rail

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Daniel_Dvoress
Daniel_Dvoress

Jan Eric Schwippert was among the bigger stacks at the start of the day but things haven't gone as smoothly for the German. Down to his last 90,000 he was all in with {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} against the {A-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} of Benjamin Pollak and the Frenchman improved to the nut flush on a board of {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} to leave Schwippert drawing dead on the turn.

Soon after, Daniel Dvoress followed. He pushed for just 35,000 and Adrian Mateos called in the big blind.

Daniel Dvoress: {J-Spades}{7-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The player at risk once again was drawing dead on the turn with the board running out {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} and that reduced the field to the last 33 hopefuls.

Nível 9 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Rolando Camardese
Rolando Camardese

A total of 158 players out of a field of 3,287 returned to the Pau Casals room at Casino Barcelona for Day 2 of the 2018 PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona €550 EPT Cup and another Pineapple Flipout for the coveted Platinum Pass was up for grabs. The room was buzzing in preparation for Day 2 of the EPT Cup and the €100,000 Super High Roller, and all tables played one flipout to get to the semi-finals with two tables. Among those were also Jackson White, Yorane Kerignard and Antonina Anapolska, but neither of them was fortunate enough to win their second flip in a row.

In the first semi-final, Mickael Vongsouthi hit a flush with {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} to book his seat for the heads-up duel, while Rolando Camardese claimed his spot with {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}. Vongsouthi and Camardese faced off in the final and it was Camardese, who hails from Maastricht in the Netherlands, that won his entry for the 2019 PokerStars Players No Limit Hold'em Championship (PSPC) on The Bahamas worth $30,000 in total.

Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

With late registration and re-entry open until the start of Day 2, we are expecting more players to join the field of the PokerStars European Poker Tour Barcelona €100,000 Super High Roller.

Yesterday there were 44 entrants, and after eight levels of play just 28 remain. Already confirmed as re-entering were Sergio Aido and Adrian Mateos, who were both eliminated last night. Aido lost a flip against Timothy Adams, with Mateos losing out with bottom pair against Richard Yong who held pocket sixes.

Leading the way is Ahadpur Khangah with a remarkable stack of 1,155,000 - almost twice the stack of fellow big stacks Pascal Lefrancois and David Peters.

Today there will be ten 60-minute levels, with a 75-minute dinner break after level 16. Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the action from Day 2.
