Muehloecker Loses Monster Pot Before Dinner

Nível 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Thomas Mühlöcker
Thomas Mühlöcker

Thomas Muehloecker was in the small blind and bet 3,600 on a {q-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} board. Johnny Nedved was in early position and made it 9,600. Muehloecker came back with 18,800 and Nedved called, seeing the {7-Spades} river. Muehloecker bet 23,600 and Nedved jammed for 60,200. Muehloecker tanked awhile and called.

Nedved showed {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a backdoor straight. Muehloecker mucked his {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}.

Players are on dinner break for 75 minutes.

Maya Geller

Maya Geller was all in for just over 5,000 and got put at risk by a player holding {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Geller was dominated with {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and bricked out to go bust.

"Good luck, everyone," she said cheerily enough. "Do well."

Reluctant Payoff From Silver

Nível 6 : 200/500, 500 ante

We found Max Silver in the big blind facing a large bet of 13,300, about the size of the pot, from Bruno Volkmann in the hijack on {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}.

"I can beat aces," Silver mused. "You don't have aces."

Silver looked close to folding but after 30 seconds or so, he flicked in a chip to call. Volkmann turned over {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}, so Silver was right. It wasn't aces, but the nut straight.

Carrel Bluffs Off a Chunk

Nível 6 : 200/500, 500 ante
Charlie Carrel (L) and Orpen Kisacikoglu
Charlie Carrel (L) and Orpen Kisacikoglu

On a board of {2-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Charlie Carrel checked in the small blind and faced a bet of 4,400 into about 11,000. He opted to shove all in for 27,000 effective and his opponent paused a beat then called.

Carrel shook his head and flipped over {10-Hearts}{7-Spades} and was surprised to see {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} based on the pause.

"The sigh-call!" he exclaimed.

The dealer burned and turned a {9-Clubs} and Carrel missed his draw and had to ship a double.

"Well," Max Silver pointed out with a laugh. "He did have all the aces."

Jozonis Takes Three-Bet Pot

Nível 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

After an under-the-gun open and a cutoff call, Tomas Jozonis made it 4,000 on the button. The blinds mucked and it went three ways to {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts}. The first two players checked to Jozonis, and his 48,000 bet took it down.

Jozonis is trying to make it two EPT Main Event final tables this year after already coming third in Monte Carlo for €308,000.

Thomas Needs Some Info

Nível 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

Julian Thomas put in a reraise to 3,700 out of the small blind but an opponent on the button wasn't so easily shaken, making it 9,500 total back to the high-stakes vet. Thomas thought awhile and opted to give it up.

As he slid in his cards, Thomas turned over his opponent's receipt to figure out his name: Julien Stropoli. Everyone shared a laugh at Thomas' sleuthing.
