Riess Uses All Nine of His Time Bank Cards in Pot Against O'Dwyer
At the start of the tournament, all players received six time bank cards, each good for a 30-second time extension when their initial 30 seconds would run out. Upon reaching the final table, all players received three more for nine total.
Ryan Riess hadn't used any of them so far this event. That just changed in a big hand against Steve O'Dwyer.
Riess, for the fourth hand in a row, opened from middle position for 25,000. Big blind Steve O'Dwyer three-bet to 100,000 even and Riess used his first time bank card before he decided to call.
O'Dwyer would triple barrel; betting 56,000 on the flop, 92,000 on the turn, and all in for effectively 186,000 on the river. Riess called rather quickly on both the flop and turn but needed some more time on the river. He used all of his eight remaining time bank cards before he eventually reluctantly folded.
O'Dwyer just sat there with a stoic look, and silently gathered the chips after Riess' fold.
