Ronaldo Eliminated

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Ronaldo
Ronaldo

Last year's impressive 26th-place run by soccer legend Ronaldo won't be topped, as he was just eliminated in the fifth level of Day 1a here in the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event. The man who got him was Andrey Zaichenko.

Ronaldo had opened with a raise from early position to 600. One player called in middle position, and then Zaichenko reraised to 2,500 out of the big blind. Ronaldo moved all in for 10,675, the caller folded, and Zaichenko called.

Ronaldo had the {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, and Zaichenko had the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

The {A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop gave Ronaldo the lead, but the {9-Spades} turn put Zaichenko back in front with a full house. Ronaldo needed an ace on the river, but he couldn't find it with the {J-Hearts} hitting the board. He was eliminated, and Zaichenko moved to 40,000 in chips.

After he busted Ronaldo, Zaichenko asked Ronaldo for a quick photo before he exited. Ronaldo was kind enough to snap a quick one with Zaichenko and then was off to the exit.

Ronaldo Slipping Again

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante

Rinat Lyapin bet 3,500 on the {9-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop, and Ronaldo called to see the {8-Clubs} land on the turn. That's where Lyapin put Ronaldo all in, who had about 12,000 in chips left. Ronaldo folded, and Lyapin scooped the pot.

Qu Isn't Checking

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Four players saw the flop of {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, and the first player to act bet 1,100. Boyuan Qu raised to 2,600, and only the original bettor called.

Both players checked the {q-Hearts} on the turn, and then the first player checked again when the river came {2-Clubs}. Qu made a hand motion that was momentarily mistaken for a check. Qu spun his hand around and then held up one finger, as if to say hold on one second. He bet 4,700 and his opponent was a little confused as to whether he had checked or not. After a moment, he folded, giving Qu the pot.

Ojani Trips Up Watson

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Mike Watson check-called a bet of 800 on the {8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop from fellow Canadian Armin Ojani to see the {K-Clubs} land on the turn. That's where both players checked, and then the river completed the board with the {8-Diamonds}. Watson led with a bet of 1,800, and Ojani called.

Watson showed the {K-Spades}{9-Spades} for two pair, but he lost to Ojani's {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for trip eights.
