Break Time!

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Players are now on their first 20-minute break of the day. Players will shortly return for Level 3 with blinds at 100/200 and an ante of 25.

Obreshkov Busts Kwaysser

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Sebastian Pauli had 4,000 in front of him from the blinds and was already called by Stoyan Obreshkov in middle position. Valdemar Kwaysser had other ideas and repopped it to 8,400 on the button. That was enough to chase Pauli, but Obreshkov came along after some thought. The Bulgarian checked a {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop and his opponent bet 5,700.

"You have aces?" Obreshkov wondered. Nonetheless, he called.

Both checked the {5-Diamonds} and an {a-Diamonds} completed the board. Obreshkov checked fairly quickly and Kwaysser thought awhile before betting 8,300. Obreshkov quickly jammed to put Kwaysser at risk for his last 6,000 or so. That caused the latter to smile and exchange some banter with his opponent. It sounded like he asked if queens were being turned into a bluff.

Finally, Kwaysser did call and was shown {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Kwaysser quickly flashed {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} before mucking and heading for the doors.

Engel Shoves the Turn

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

There was already 6,000 in the pot with Ari Engel on the button and heads up against an opponent in middle position on a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Engel's opponent bet 3,500 and Engel responded with a raise to 9,125. His opponent thought awhile and called, and the turn brought a {2-Hearts}. Engel's opponent checked and Engel asked to see his stack, which looked to be around 19,000. Engel pushed all of his big chips in the middle, about 24,000, and his opponent snap-mucked.

Selbst Gaining Early Steam

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Vanessa Selbst was in the hijack and had a bet of 6,800 in front of her when we got to her table. The board read {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and he opponent in early position was considering his options. He decided to call, and Selbst showed down {5-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a rivered straight, good for the pot.

At other tables, PokerStars Team Pro Fatima Moreira de Melo and former European Poker Tour and World Poker Tour champ Niall Farrell have taken seats.

Family Pots

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The Day 1b field size is approaching 700 players at the end of the first level. Many players are seeing flops, but giving up on hands early.

William Kassouf, who is busy checking things out on his phone rather than engaging in early table chatter, was just involved in one such family pot with a player under the gun min-raising to 200, another early position player calling and Kassouf calling behind. A player from late position three-bet the pot to 550 and got calls from the big blind before the three players to already put more money in the pot called.

The {2-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} appeared on the board and the action folded around to the player that three-bet preflop who fired out a continuation bet of 1,075. Everyone, including Kassouf, quickly threw their hand into the muck in succession.

Kwaysser Shipping Early

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With the pot containing more than 13,000 on the river and a board of {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} on the felt, Valdemar Kwaysser shoved all in from the big blind for effectively about 26,000. His opponent on the button thought awhile and folded, sending the pot to the Hungarian player.
