Leonard With Some "Speech Play"

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded to Mikita Badizakouski in the small blind and he shoved all in. Big blind Patrick Leonard had a stack of 158,000 and a big decision.

"I have a big one," Leonard said, "A big one!"

Leonard waited for the hand on the other table to finish before he again started talking.

"I wished you had opened. I think I dominate you a lot" he started. "Can you tell me your range?" he asked Badziakouski.

"I would say something like nines and ace-queen" Badziakouski answered with a smile, something not many seemed to believe.

"How would you play king-five?" Leonard asked.

"I would say both options are fine, raising and shoving" Leonard answered.

Ole Schemion called the clock but since the tournament clock has been paused as long as the bubble continues, that was of no real use.

Leonard offered Badziakouski to swap 2% of his to 6% of him. Badziakouske declined, saying that wasn't fair to the other players. Schemion, with a smile and just as friendly, raised an eyebrow and looked at the floor while saying he didn't think that should be allowed.

Leonard eventually folded, claiming to have had {K-}{Q-}. Badziakouski showed the {K-Diamonds} as he raked in the small pot.

Shorties Keep Shoving

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Although there's a €46,180 bubble looming, none of the short stacks appear to be scared money. In the past orbit, Ramin Hajiyev (2x), Patrick Leonard and Allan Sannier all put their stacks in the middle at one point. Each time, the loot consisted of just blinds and antes.

One More Bubble Double-Up for Kitai

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Action folded to Adrian Mateos in the small blind and he pushed all in to put the decision on Davidi Kitai. The Belgian all time moneyleader (for now, Kenny Hallaert could surpass him if he does well at the WSOP Main Event Final Table next week) called.

Davidi Kitai: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Adrian Mateos: {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Kitai doubled his 122,000 stack.

Leonard Shoves Twice

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

End of Day 1 chipleader Patrick Leonard has dwindled down to one of the shortest stacks in the room. It was time for some moves, and Leonard found spots by open-shoving from the small blind and the button.

He picked up the blinds and antes, triumphantly showing an ace each time.

Adrian Mateos Gets Lucky To Stay Alive

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Allan Sannier raised his button to 18,000 and small blind Adrian Mateos shoved all in for 168,000. The big blind got out of the way but Sannier called.

Allan Sannier: {A-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

Mateos was at risk but got lucky on the flop: {J-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Spades}. The {3-Hearts} on the turn and {Q-Clubs} on the river were inconsequential cards and Mateos got his double-up.

Silver Doubles on the Bubble

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

From the cutoff, Max Silver raised to 18,000. Oleksii Khoroshenin on the button called and small blind Allan Sannier squeezed to 56,000.

Adrian Mateos folded his big blind and action was back on Silver. The Englishman four-bet to 56,000 and Khoroshenin quickly released his cards into the muck. Sannier shoved just as fast and Silver, while not over enthusiastic, called for 265,000 total.

Allan Sannier: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Max Silver: {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}

Despite the French rail asking for an ace, the board came {J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and Silver doubled.

Dinner Break

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Patrick Leonard suggested postponing the dinner break till the bubble would burst. All players seemed to agree except for Ole Schemion. Since no consensus was reached, the scheduled 90-minute break just started with still 10 players remaining. When the players return in an hour and a half, the blinds will be at 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000-ante.
