A true test of poker skill and endurance is set to begin and end today with the latest PokerStars European Poker Tour Single-Day High Roller starting off at 12:30 p.m. local time in Dublin, Ireland.

With an inflated buy-in and turbo structure designed to end within a single day of play, these Single-Day High Roller events have traditionally drawn some of the best players on the planet willing to play it out until the wee hours of the morning.

The first Single-Day High Roller event of the EPT's 12th season in Barcelona featured a €25,000 + €500 buy in and saw Martin Finger get the best of a 118-entry field to collect an €865,900 first-place prize.

Next up was a €10k Single-Day High Roller in Malta that saw Steve O'Dwyer bank €327,030 after defeating a field of 99. German Rainer Kempe then won the EPT12 Prague €25,000 Single-Day High Roller for €539,000 beating a field of 80 entries.

The EPT's all-time leading money winner, O'Dwyer earned his second single-day high roller title of this season at the 2016 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure by winning the $50,000 Single-Day High Roller with 58 unique entries and 22 reentries to capture a $945,495 first-place prize.

Today in Dublin, players will start out with 100,000 in chips and blind levels escalating every 30 minutes. Registration will close at the start of the event's ninth level and players are allowed a single reentry should they go broke within the first eight levels.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand for all the action from the call to shuffle up and deal until a new EPT Single-Day High Roller champion is crowned.
