Elgstrom Pays Off Patsiopoulos

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

On a final board of {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}, Christian Elgstrom bet 5,600 out of the big blind. In the cutoff, George Patsiopoulos raised to 12,600, and Elgstrom made a fairly quick call. Patsiopoulos showed {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped straight, and Elgstrom's cards quickly hit the muck.

Gregg Plays Aces Slow

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

We found the "End Boss," Tony Gregg check-calling 1,025 from cutoff Talal Shakerchi on a flop of {7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Gregg check-called once more, this time for 2,000 on the {7-Clubs} turn, and both players checked the {2-Spades} river.

Gregg flipped over {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}, causing Shakerchi to smile and muck.

We got to the table with the dealer having already put out the river card and the board showing {K-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Vanessa Selbst was up against one player who put out a bet of 1,050.

"How much?" Selbst asked and her opponent told her the amount.

Selbst shook her head, grabbed the chips to make the call, and tossed them into the middle while saying "I think you're overplaying your hand."

Her opponent nodded as he tabled {K-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of kings with a ten kicker. Selbst turned over the winner, {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, as her opponent told her "nice hand."

"Damage was small," smiled Selbst as she stacked her newly acquired chips.
