In last year's record-setting PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $25,000 High Roller, Jake Schindler put himself on the poker map when he defeated Greg Merson to top a field of 247 entries and earn $1,192,624 in first-place prize money.

The completed board read with 25,000 already in the middle. Jared Jaffee checked over to Randal Flowers and Flowers reached for chips. He cut out a river bet of 13,500, putting the decision on Jaffee.
Jaffee thought for a moment before reaching for a bigger stack of chips to make a raise to 33,500. Flowers quickly kicked his cards into the middle and Jaffee was awarded the pot. He now has about 125,000 to Flowers' 39,500.
Chris Klodnicki raised to 1,500 from the cutoff and found a call from Dan Shak in the small blind. The two took a flop of and Shak check-called a continuation of 1,500.
Fourth street was the and Shak checked again. Klodnicki fired 3,500, Shak instantly called, and the fell on the river. Shak bet 3,000 and Klodnicki opted to ditch his cards. Shak showed as he dragged in a pot that brought his stack to 74,000.
Dan Kelly raised to 1,500 from early position, Amit Makhija called from the hijack seat, David Saba called from the cutoff seat, Thomas Muhlocker called from the small blind, and Igor Kurganov called from the big blind. On the flop, all five players checked to see the land on the turn. Muhlocker led with a bet of 5,000, and Kurganov was the only caller. The river was the , and both players checked.
Muhlocker showed the for a king-high flush, and he won the pot. Kurganov mucked.
