Silver Falls to Salikaev

Nível 5 : 150/300, 25 ante
Max Silver
Max Silver

A player in early position began the action with a raise to 700. Action trickled around to Yury Salikaev on the button who three-bet to 1,700. The small blind folded and action fell upon Max Silver in the big blind. Silver announced a four-bet to 4,000, prompting a quick fold from the original raiser. Salikaev, however, called to see a flop.

The flop came down {4-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Silver continued out for 5,000. Salikaev called and the {q-Hearts} dropped down on the turn. Silver thought for well over a minute before moving all in for his last 17,725. Salikaev called and the hands were turned over.

Silver: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Salikaev: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Salikaev flopped a set of jacks and had a strong grip on the hand. Silver was unable to spike one of the two remaining aces on the river and he was eliminated after the {2-Spades} hit the felt. Salikaev picked up the pot and brought his stack to 60,200 in chips.

Tuan announced a four-bet to 5,700 and McDonald folded his cards. Tuan showed {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} as he was pushed the pot. With this hit, McDonald's stack is down to about 25,000.

Longmate Doubles Through Kim

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante
Dong Kim
Dong Kim

A short-stacked David Longmate was all in and at risk before the flop for his last 5,425. Dong Kim called and the hands were revealed to find the two racing for Longmate's tournament life.

Longmate: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Kim: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}

The flop came down {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}, keeping Kim's sixes in the lead. Longmate did pick up a few additional outs, though, as a ten could make him a Broadway straight. The board paired on the turn with the {2-Spades}, leaving Longmate looking for an ace, king, or ten on the river in order to stay alive.

Longmate heaved a sigh of relief after the {10-Spades} finished off the board, completing his straight and giving him renewed life. He now sits around 11,000 while Kim's stack has dropped to approximately 56,500
