Andrea Dato raised to 22,000 from the button and Christian Jeppsson moved all in from the small blind for approximately 120,000. Action folded back to Dato who tanked for several minutes before dropping out a call.

Jeppsson: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board came down {9-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades}, giving Jeppsson two pair for the win. With this victory, he doubled his stack to about 245,000 on the bubble.

Mercier's Aces Cracked Two Off the Money

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Jason Mercier - Adrian Mateos
Jason Mercier - Adrian Mateos

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier couldn't have asked for a better spot to get his money in. Unfortunately for him, the aces he held couldn't hold up to give him more than a full double.

From the hijack seat, Mercier raised to 16,000. Adrian Mateos was next to act in the cutoff seat, and he reraised to 46,000. Francois Billard was in the small blind and stuck in a reraise of his own to 98,000. Play slid back over to Mercier, and he went into the tank for a little bit. After about 30 seconds, Mercier announced that he was all in — a shove worth 373,000. Mateos had a look of surprise come over his face as his stared at Mercier. He then shifted his vision to Billard to get an eye on his stack. Then, Mateos announced that he was all in.

Billard was shocked and immediately sat back in his chair before squirming a little bit and sitting forward once again. He had just about 400,000 left after his four-bet, but seemed to know he had to fold. Although he didn't like it, Billard passed his cards to the muck with a pained look on his face. Later, Ryan Riess mentioned to us that Billard told the table he had folded two queens.

Mercier tabled the {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} and was at risk. Mateos had the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and was in some rough shape going to the flop.

The {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades} kept Mercier in front with his pair of aces, but it did pair Mateos' king. That initial pair of kings would prove vital after the {8-Spades} hit the turn and the {K-Spades} fell on the river. With that, Mateos spiked trip kings to send Mercier out the door in 73rd place, just two spots off the money.

Mateos pulled in the pot and increased his stack to 1.625 million.

Refos Moves In

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Raoul Refos raised to 16,000 from middle position and action came around to Jack Salter in the small blind. Salter moved out a three-bet to 53,000 only to have Nick Petrangelo four-bet to 96,000 from the big blind. Refos went into the tank for quite some time before five-betting all in. Salter quickly folded, putting action back on Petrangelo.

Petrangelo gave a smirk and shook his head as he showed {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to the players in his vicinity. His hand was then shown to the entire able before it was pulled into the muck. Refos took the pot and boosted his stack to 430,000.

MacPhee Doubles Through Kamatkis

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Action folded around to Iliodoros Kamatakis on the button who made it 20,000 to go. Kevin MacPhee was in the small blind and he cut out a three-bet of what looked to be around 64,000. Action folded back to Kamatakis who moved all in over the top. MacPhee called for his own tournament life of 376,000 and the hands were turned up.

MacPhee: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Kamatakis: {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}

The board came down {2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}, keeping MacPhee's big slick out in front. He scored the huge double and now has about 760,000 in chips.

Haxton Doubles

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

From under the gun, Byron Kaverman raised to 18,000. Isaac Haxton reraised all in from the next seat for 89,000, and action folded back to Kaverman. He thought about it for a minute or so, then called with the {A-Spades}{J-Spades}. Haxton had the dominating {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

The flop came out {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Clubs} to keep Haxton in the lead.

"Put a spade!" Haxton shouted in jest.

The turn was the {8-Clubs}, and the river was the {3-Hearts} to double Haxton up.

Finger Shoves Turn

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

On the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop, Wilfried Harig bet 25,000. Martin Finger made the call, and the turn was the {4-Spades}. Harris opted to check, allowing Finger to pounce with an all-in shove for 131,000. Harig gave it some thought, then folded, and Finger scooped the pot.
