Alvarado Busts Ravnsbaek

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

On the final board of {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, JC Alvarado had moved all in against Simon Ravnsbaek, who had a bet of 15,700 in front of him on the river. Ravnsbaek tanked for a bit, but eventually called with the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs} for a straight. Unfortunately for him, Alvarado had the {J-Hearts}{6-Spades} for flopped trips that turned into a full house on fourth street. Alvarado had Ravnsbaek covered, and the Dane was eliminated.

"Make sure you write that I told him, 'My hand is terrible,'" Alvarado said to our reporter as he was stacking his chips. "And he said, 'Mine's worse!'"

With that pot, Alvarado moved up to 178,000 in chips.

Vogelsang Flops Straight and Busts Wyraz

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

When we arrived at the table, there was a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} in the middle between Grzegorz Wyraz and Christoph Vogelsang. Wyraz had 13,600 in front of him as a bet or raise, but Vogelsang had moved all in over the top. With about 47,000 behind, Wyraz tank-called with the {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} to put his tournament life on the line — at least the first life, that is. Vogelsang had his two pair beat, though, holding the {J-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a flopped straight.

Needing to make a full house or better to win the hand, Wyraz couldn't pull through after the {6-Hearts} hit the turn followed by the {6-Diamonds} on the river. He was eliminated, whereas Vogelsang moved to 137,000 in chips.

Soika Doubles, But Still Short

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Ihar Soika
Ihar Soika

Last year's champion, Ihar Soika, was all in with the {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} against the {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for an opponent. The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Soika doubled up. Even so, he's still short with just 12,500 in chips.

Yurasov Doubles Through Fernandez

Nível 7 : 400/800, 100 ante
Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

A short-stacked Dmitry Yurasov was all in and at risk before the flop for his last 11,300 against Team PokerStars Pro Leo Fernandez. The hands were tabled to show that Yurasov was in need of improvement.

Fernandez: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Yurasov: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

The flop came out {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}, keeping Fernandez's kings in the lead. That all changed in an instant, however as the {a-Hearts} rolled off on the turn to pair Yurasov and give him the lead. The {j-Spades} finished off the board and Yurasov was guaranteed renewed life. He now has about 24,000 while Fernandez has dropped to 114,000.

Engel Raises Selbst

Nível 6 : 300/600, 75 ante

We found PokerStars Team Pro Vanessa Selbst and Ari Engel engaged in a hand where the board read {6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}. Selbst was first to act and she cut out a bet of 5,600 into a pot that was already well over 9,000.

Engel was on the button and he pondered his action for just under a minute before cutting out a raise of what looked to be 15,000. Selbst thought for a moment before releasing her cards. Engel was pushed the pot and he now sports a stack of around 83,500.
