Mercier Knocks Out Two Players

Nível 4 : 300/600, 75 ante
Jason Mercier
Jason Mercier

Team PokerStars Pro Jason Mercier just raked in an enormous pot and we barely caught the end of it. After things cooled down Mercier explained to us what happened.

There was a raise to 1,200 and three players called including Mercier in the big blind. The flop brought out {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and the action was checked to the player in position who bet 3,000.

Mercier raised it up to 9,600 and Simon Higgins, the initial raiser, moved all in for 27,100. The player in position made the call and Mercier moved all in over the top. Mercier's opponent had 33,000 chips behind and he made the call for his tournament life.

Mercier: {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Higgins: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Opponent: {6-}{6-}

The board ran out {3-Spades}, {J-Diamonds} and Mercier's flopped straight held up. Mercier knocked out two players and he's now chip leader with 180,000 chips.

Vieira Busts Merson

Nível 4 : 300/600, 75 ante

After someone at the table had raised to an unknown amount, Joao Vieira reraised on the button to 3,350. Greg Merson, champion of the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event, reraised out of the big blind and made it 8,100 to go. The original raiser folded, and Vieira tank-called.

On the {J-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts} flop, Merson checked. After Vieira bet 4,600, Merson check-jammed all in for around 20,000. Vieira called with the {J-Spades}{10-Spades}. Merson showed the {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

The turn was the {8-Hearts}, and the river was the {J-Diamonds}. Vieira won the pot, and Merson was eliminated. We'll let you know if he returns for his one reentry.

Harder Busts Mizzi

Nível 3 : 200/400, 50 ante

With about 9,000 in the middle on the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds} board, Sorel Mizzi bet 5,125 into his opponent, Christian Harder. Harder called, and the river completed the board with the {4-Spades}. Mizzi moved all in for right around 20,000, and Harder quickly called.

Harder showed the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for the nut straight, and Mizzi mucked his hand before heading out the door. He may be back, though, and we'll keep you posted.

Ausmus Bests Riess

Nível 3 : 200/400, 50 ante

On the {J-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, reigning World Series of Poker Main Event champion Ryan Riess bet 2,200 into 2012 November Niner Jeremy Ausmus. Ausmus called, and the dealer brought the {5-Clubs} to the board on the turn. Riess bet 4,100, and Ausmus called.

On the river, the {7-Diamonds} hit the felt, and Riess led with a third straight bet worth 8,200. Ausmus called. Riess immediately let it be known he was bluffing, and Ausmus showed the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}. Riess mucked, and Ausmus won the pot.
