Day 4 of the Season 10 European Poker Tour sponsored by PokerStars.it here at the Sanremo Casino in Italy will begin soon. The original field of 556 has been whittled down to just 39 players who will be competing to be crowned the latest EPT champion.

Raul Mestre is the man to catch as he sits top of the leader board with 942,000. The 32 year old from Valencia, Spain has already reached two final tables in EPT season 5 at Prague and EPT season 8 at Barcelona so will surely be looking to go one better this time and seize the title.

Team PokerStars Pros are represented by Season 3 EPT London winner Vicky Coren (455,000) and Alex Kravchenko (390,000).

Other players to look out for today include EPT Copenhagen champ Michael Tureniec (213,000), EPT Prague finalist Jorma Nuutinen (852,000),PCA champ Dimitar Danchev (302,000), EPT Deauville finalists Jeffrey Hakim (651,000), Andrea Benelli (721,000), and PCA finalist Shayam Srinivasan (590,000).

We’ll also be keeping an eye on Olivier Busquet (806,000) and Stephen Chidwick from the UK (429,000),

The winner will receive the €476,100 first prize as well as the EPT champion's trophy and a stunning watch made by luxury Swiss brand SLYDE, the Official Watch Sponsor for EPT Season 10 Main Events

With blinds and antes starting at level 20 of 5,000 / 10,000 / 1,000 there is likely to be a frenetic start to play as there are a number of short stacks who will be looking to double up early to stay in contention.

Play will resume at Noon local time and will continue until there are 16 players left who will then return for the penultimate day tomorrow. The PokerNews Live Reporting team will bring you all the action, bust outs and regularly updated chip counts as they happen.
