Some Side Event News: Bruel Makes Final Six of €5,000 No-Limit Tournament

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

According to PokerStars, singer, actor and World Series of Poker bracelet winner Patrick Bruel made the final six of the latest €5,000 No-Limit Hold'em side event here at the Grand Final. Bruel is one of France’s biggest stars and has sold millions of records as well as starring in films and performing sell-out tours all over the world.

For those who may not know, the 54-year-old is an accomplished poker player, ranked #23 in France and has made more than $1.3 million in live tournament winnings. Last month he took down the World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic for a lifetime best cash of $332,190. He also won a WSOP $5,000 event in 1998 for $224,000 and made the final table of the EPT4 Barcelona, cashing for €104,500.

With a €200,900 first prize at stake, Bruel is up against stiff competition. The current chip leader is Full Tilt Poker Ambassador Dermot Blain with 745,000, followed by Greek player Georgios Karakousis, who finished runner-up at EPT London in October for £349,200. The tournament, which attracted 187 entries and created a prize pool of €906,950, will return today to play down to a winner.
