Salter's Big Check-Raise Fails

Salter out flopped Buonanno on 
and both players checked. The gave Buonanno a flush draw, while it could make feel Salter a bit better about his pair of kings. Buonanno checked again and Salter bet 355,000. Buonanno thought for a bit and eventually folded.

The 
-flop hit Buonanno hard and did not much for Salter. But Salter didn't check-fold to Buonanno's 250,000 bet, he check-called. The 
fell on the turn which gave Buonanno an unbeatable hand. Salter picked up a draw but he had no way of knowing that even would he hit it, it wouldn't be good.
Salter checked again and Buonanno bet 450,000. With the pot now 1,510,000, Salter reached for the big chips. "Oh dear" said one of the commentators right before Salter shoved 1,215,000 forward. Buonanno flat in position.
3,490,000 in the pot now. The hit the river and Salter was first to act. Salter checked and Buonanno contemplated his move. He picked up a pile of 100,000 chips and slid 18 in. Salter folded.
