One month ago, nobody knew anything about Dominik Panka. Not much is still known about him, but the newly-crowned PCA champion was the star attraction when the first Europe-based event of 2014 got under way today in Deauville. Read more at the PokerStars blog.

Rony Halimi from France won a live satellite to qualify for the Main Event and just played a pot with the man of many Hendon Mob flags, Dominik Nitsche from Germany. The board read and Nitsche threw out a bet of 1,000. Halimi called and the river card was dealt . Nitsche again bet, 1,600 this time. Halimi seemed unconvinced and made the call to see Nitsche turn face up . Having checked the board to satisfy himself that his hand was good Halimi tabled his .
A scalp for Zimnan Ziyard, he'd bet 2,200 on the river of a before Gregory Benac moved all in for about 14,000. Initially, the EPT Loutraki champion wasn't too enthused but he made the call with , having outflopped Benac's .
Chakib Bennani raised to 700 preflop before Chris Day made it 2,100 in the seat next to him. In the next seat, Mateusz Kosowski cold four-bet to 4,600 and it was passed back to Bennani who quickly folded.
Day called to see the flop where both players checked. The turn saw a 5,900 bet from Day and that was enough to secure him the pot.
We're not entirely sure what happened, but we are sure that Ukrainian player Oleh Okhotskyi has exited the tournament. On a board he called all in from Jeffrey Hakim who had slightly more chips than he did. Okhotskyi might have had a jack but that was unclear. The in front of Hakim was clear as water though, the nuts secured him the near double up.
The entire board was already out and with on the table German player [Removed:203] had a yellow 1,000 in front of him. We're not entirely sure but it seems that Marie Furstoss is the only lady in the field today and action was on her. She raised it up to 6,500 and action was back on Mueller.
He thought about it for quite some time and someone actually called the clock on him eventually. Before the dealer had even called for a floor Mueller had called. Furstoss tabled and Mueller had to muck.
Jannick Wrang is up to 54,000 after hitting every single community card, making a nice value bet on the river and getting paid off.
A complete board of was on the felt and Wrang bet 6,800 into roughly 8,000. His lone opponent - Orpen Kisacikoglu - mulled over his decision before eventually calling. The EPT8 Campione champion showed for the flopped flush and Kisacikoglu mucked his hand. He's down to 32,000.
