Dalimore Dallies to Salvatore's Ship

Nível 4 : 100/200, 25 ante

Mark Dalimore, an Irishman who has lived in the Czech Republic for the past 20 years, is a player that I've had the chance to observe closely over the last few days as he finished fifth in the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event. Deep in that event he 'misclicked' three times. On all three occasions he claims that he meant to call but put out an amount of chips that were greater than the bet he faced but not enough to constitute a legal raise, although on all occasions it was at least 50% of the legal raise so it went as a min-raise.

I'm not suggesting he was angling, indeed on one occasion he showed {5-}{2-} at showdown when this happened, but it happens frequently and he was at it once more in a pot against Salvatore Bonavena. I joined the action to see a board of {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} on the felt, Bonavena bet 4,050 and Dalimore put out 6,600. Given it was over half the legal raise it went as a min-raise and it wasn't entirely clear whether Dalimore meant to call or raise in this instance. It mattered not to Bonanvena as he moved all-in for 38,000.

Dalimore then started talking out loud, "I can't fold, I've been unlucky here I think," he stated. "I'm getting over two to one," he continued. "Do I care? Yes I do," he said more to himself than anyone else. By now seat nine and seat six had heard enough and convinced he was folding they stood up to have a chat away from the table. And Dalimore did fold, although it took him another two minutes to reach that decision.
