The Defending Champ and the November Niner

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante
Defending champion Ruben Visser
Defending champion Ruben Visser

Two good friends, Ruben Visser and Michiel Brummelhuis, are among the two most interesting players in today's event. Visser is of course the defending champ, as he won this event last Spring for a staggering £595,000, and he's back here to defend his title. Brummelhuis on the other hand does not have a big title under his belt like Visser does, but come November he will have a chance to shatter every previous Dutch poker accomplishment in the WSOP Main Event.

Brummelhuis goes into the WSOP final table seventh in chips, but everything is possible for the Dutchman who's already guaranteed $733,224 in that tournament. Before he started play today we ran into Brummelhuis who said, "I'm so excited to play, I can't wait to sit down" as he's barely played any poker since the bubble burst in Las Vegas.

Brummelhuis played a tournament in the Netherlands, but left at night when his girlfriend went into labor. The November Niner's son is doing great and the whole family is in preparation of the biggest day of his poker career.
