Lovelady vs. Moseley

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

With 100,000 or so in the pot and a board reading {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Joey Lovelady bet 45,000 from the big blind only to have Andy Moseley raise to 110,000 from the cutoff. Lovelady thought for awhile before making the call, and he regretted it as Moseley rolled over the {6-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a full house.

"Shitty call," Lovelady chastised himself and flashed the {3-Spades}.

"Shitty run out," Moseley consoled.

Leon “Flippetyflop“ Louis, 27, UK - WCOOP Main Event final tablist

Leon "Flippetyflop" Louis has had a good run of form. Not only did he cash in the UKIPT a few days ago (40th, £2,610) which is nice in of itself, but he came in off the back of an 8th place finish in the WCOOP Main Event for $159,975.

Louis is still flip-flopping his way through this £5,250 Main Event field with the bubble just about to appear on the horizon. You can follow his progress through our live updates or, more personally, at @Flippetyflopuk. He’s a Supernova Elite. Specialises in Heads up Hyper Turbos and used to play 50-60 hours per week but has been trying to cut that down to get a better work/life balance.

For more, visit the PokerStars Blog.

Ludovic Geilich, 25, Glasgow, UK

Ludovic Geilich won UKIPT Marbella in June for € 130,000 - huge field of 763 players. He's been playing poker for ten years, five years full time. He has a German mother and Scottish father and has lived in Scotland all his life but has a lot of German family. He mainly plays online MTTs with the occasional dabble into Limit Hold’em cash, although he spurns tracking software and HUDs as not being in the spirit of the game. His biggest live result until he won UKIPT Marbella was for £7,830 in a £300 GUKPT side event in Walsall. Online he’s chopped The Bigger $22 on PokerStars for $14,000. Before turning to poker full time, Geilich was a proficient snooker player, but the difficulty of the game means that going back after a break is not possible in a serious manner; he now focuses mainly on the virtual felt.

Devilfish Filleted by Karakousis

Dave Ulliott
Dave Ulliott

David "Devilfish" Ulliott, one of the more popular players in the field, has just been eliminated from the tournament over at the secondary feature table.

We're not sure when the money went in (we think it was preflop), but we do know that Ulliott held the {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} against the {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} of Greece's Georgios Karakousis. The {4-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Spades} flop was safe enough for Ulliott, though it did give Karakousis a gutshot wheel draw, but it was the {A-Hearts} turn that would do the Devilfish in.

Karakousis paired his ace and left Ulliott in need of an eight on the river to stay alive. The {Q-Clubs} was not what he was looking for and Ulliott made a gracious exit from the tournament floor, even stopping to shake hands with a few fans.

Quads for Warburton Sends Louis to the Rail

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

A series of preflop raises over at the feature table resulted in Leon Louis being all in preflop holding the {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and racing against the {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} of Steven Warburton, who had him covered by just 21,000. The {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds} flop was gin for Warburton, and Louis had to hit running cards to stay alive.

The {6-Spades} turn took away any chance of that happening and Louis was up out of his seat. "Good luck boys," he said as he began to walk away. The dealer then put out the {9-Spades} on the river for good measure. "What a waste," Louis joked one last time.

Lovelady Backdoors a Miracle

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Joey Lovelady
Joey Lovelady

Joey Lovelady was all in preflop with {K-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and in big trouble against Kent Roed's {A-Spades}{J-Spades}.

"I folded 3-2 offsuit," said [Removed:17] quietly, "that helps..."

The {A-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop was a death sentence for the Liverpudlian but most of the table called for the ten of clubs on the turn.

Instead it was the {10-Spades} that came instead, Lovelady could now chop with an eight or win with queen. He was all ready to leave but then out of nowhere the {Q-Clubs} appeared on the river to keep him alive.

All Roeds Lead to Kent

Carla Sabini
Carla Sabini

Straight after having lost that pot to Joey Lovelady, Kent Roed was involved in another big pot.

Blind on blind, he saw a {K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{9-Spades} flop against Carla Sabini (the latter in the big blind). The Canadian had shoved on Roed and the latter was thinking about whether to call the 200,000 chip shove.

Finally he did call and Sabini said glumly, "I was hoping you'd fold because you've just lost a big pot."

Sabini: {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}
Roed: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

The turn was the {8-Spades} and the river was the {J-Hearts} - and with that the last lady involved in the Main Event was eliminated.

Behbehani Busts to Steen

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Salman Behbehani
Salman Behbehani

Yngve Steen opened for 22,000 under the gun and a short-stacked Salman Behbehani decided it was time to go. He splashed in his last 63,000, the rest of the field folded, and Steen made the call.

Steen: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Behbehani: {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}

Both players held an ace, which meant the kicker would likely determine the hand. Behbehani's was inferior, and that meant he needed to improve to stay alive. The {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} flop gave him some extra outs to a gutshot, but neither the {3-Hearts} turn nor {8-Hearts} river helped Behbehani.

The Rich Looking to Get Richer

Nível 20 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

It's been a great 2013 for Jeff Rossiter. He's already won more than $3.3 million in tournament winnings (only Anthony Gregg and Niklas Heinecker have won more with $5.8 million and $4.5 million respectively), and he'll be adding to that in this event.

In a recent hand, Rossiter opened from the cutoff only to have Steven Warburton three-bet to 58,000 from the small blind. Not to be outdone, Rossiter four-bet to 136,000 and Warburton tanked for about two minutes before making the call.

Both players proceeded to check the {3-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop and {5-Spades} turn. When the {9-Clubs} completed the board on the river, Rossiter fired out 93,000 and Warburton thought long and hard before making the call. Rossiter tabled the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} for top pair and it was good as Warburton sent his hand to the muck.
