Welcome back to the 2019 Aussie Millions for Day 2 of Event #9: AU$25,000 Challenge live from Crown Melbourne in Melbourne, Australia.

Today the country celebrates Australia Day; a national day off where people come to celebrate the birth of this country back in 1788. For one of the remaining 29 players, today will be the day where they ascend to the top to capture the AU$25,000 Challenge title, an Aussie Millions ring, and the AU$960,360 first prize.

Japan's Kazuhiko Yotsushika bagged the overnight chip lead with 538,500 courtesy of Toby Lewis doubling an opponent up on one of the final hands of play. The defending Aussie Millions Champion in Lewis finished with 487,500 to be slightly ahead of Martijn Gerrits (447,000), Jack Sinclair (432,500), and Andy Lee (414,500) as the only players above 400,000 in chips.

A plethora of notable players fill the remainder of the chip counts with recent PCA Main Event Winner Chino Rheem, German High Roller regulars Rainer Kempe and Koray Aldemir, last year's fourth-place finisher Kitty Kuo, and 2018 GPI Player of the Year Alex Foxen all surviving into Day 2.

Day 2 will see the Event #9: AU$25,000 Challenge winner crowned, but before that is to occur, the money must be reached. 17 players will be guaranteed an AU$63,420 payday, while reaching the final table of six players will see everyone lock up AU$$154,020. Whoever manages to win the biggest AU$25,000 Challenge in Aussie Millions history, they will capture the AU$960,360 first prize and prestigious Aussie Millions ring.

The cards are in the air at 2:30 p.m. (AEDT) with the PokerNews Live Reporting Team providing continuous live updates of all the Event #9: AU$25,000 Challenge action.
