Kanit Knocks Out Schulze, Up to 1.7 Million Now

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

From middle position, Mustapha Kanit opened for 17,000. Big blind Felix Schulze three-bet to 59,000 and Kanit called.

The flop came {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} and Schulze followed his pre-flop aggression up with a bet of 52,000. Kanit called and did so too as Schulze bet 105,000 on the turn.

With the {6-Diamonds} completing the board, Schulze shoved all in for 294,000. Kanit asked for a count and nodded yes when he heard it was just under 300,000.

Felix Schulze showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} but that wasn't good enough as Kanit tabled {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}. Schulze and Kanit fist bumped and the latter started stacking while the former was heading for the pay out desk.

Pettersson and Ogrady Out in Quick Succession

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Jan Pettersson asked us for directions to the cashier's desk on his way out of the tournament and was kind enough to tell us his bust out hand. Pettersson got all the chips in pre-flop with {a-Spades}{7-Spades} against an opponent’s {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}, hitting the rail when both players failed to connect with the flop meaning his opponent's king kicker played.

Michael Ogrady followed shortly afterward after getting all the in chips pre-flop with {a-Hearts}{5-Spades} against the {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} of Steven Swalling.

The board ran out {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Clubs} {7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} to d send Ogrady out the door and grant Swalling the pot and he’s now sitting on 535,000.

Altman Takes a Hit

Nível 18 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

We missed some of the action and arrived just as two players were all in, one of whom is Brian Altman. According to Stephen Bantick a player in seat one opened the action with a raise, Brian Altman responded with a three-bet and seat one four-bet all-in for 206,000 in total with Altman calling extremely quickly.

Altman had his opponent covered and his {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} was leading his opponent’s {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and stayed in front on the {10-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop but the {q-Diamonds} turn completed the all-in players’ gutshot Broadway straight. The {2-Diamonds} was no help and Altman dropped down to 165,000 while his opponent stacked up 420,000.

Altman Doubles Through Tollerene

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

We missed the action before the flop, and only arrived when Brian Altman (big blind) and Ben Tollerene (hijack) already had their cards flipped over. Altman was the one at risk for 130,000 but he had the slightly better hand with {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} as Tollerene showed {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}.

The board ran out {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and things were already decided on the turn. Tollerene now short.

Yan and Dixon Chop

Nível 19 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

The 2017 Aussie Millions is now down to 5 tables with just 40 players from the 725-strong field remaining.

The play is tightening up slightly as we enter the last 70 minutes of the day and we have not seen many hands progress much past the flop for the last 15 minutes.

We get a rare showdown over on [Removed:17]’s table after Nicholas Dixon opened the action with a raise to 23,000 with Yan (small blind) and the big blind making the call.

The flop fell {4-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} and both the blinds checked the action over to Dixon who continuation bet 28,000. Yan called and the big blind bowed out to take the action heads-up to a {10-Spades} turn.

Yan checked for the second time and Dixon moved all-in. Dixon has Yan covered but the New Zealand pro did not hesitate to call off for his tournament life and the cards were turned over. Dixon showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Yan was holding the same hand, the only difference being his was suited {k-Spades}{q-Spades}.

That resulted in an anticlimactic chop when the river came down {j-Diamonds}. Yan is sitting on 180,000 and Dixon looks to have about 450,000.
