Billy ‘The Croc’ Argyros is having a good Day 1b so far – he just increased his stack with what were once Mark Radoja’s chips.
We arrived on the turn to see the board spread and Argyros firing for 3,200. Radoja made the call and the river completed the board.
Argyros loaded up again, this time firing for 7,000, which sent Radoja into the tank. Radoja looked back at his cards and reached into his stack before pausing as if deciding against a call. After another minute of thought he ultimately flicked in the 7,000 and saw the bad news when Argyro tabled for the nut flush.
On a flop of the player under the gun bet 1,200. Simon Chahine was the other player in the hand and he raised it up to 3,100 from the hijack. Chahine's opponent then three-bet to 9,200 which he called shortly after.
The turn brought the and the under the gun player paused for a moment before announcing all in for around 16,500. Chahine snap-called and immediately tabled for quad threes before standing up from his chair in excitement. His opponent could only look in shock as he revealed for two pair and was drawing dead.
The meaningless completed the board and Chahine raked in the pot as another player hit the rail.
2015 November Niner Federico Butteroni has had a slow start today but seems to be gaining momentum after a recent pot against Terrence Chan brought him back up to over starting stack.
With the board reading and approximately 6,500 in the pot, Butteroni checked it over to Chan who fired for 4,500. A call from Butteroni saw the roll off on the river before Butteroni checked for a final time.
Chan decided to check it back on the end and revealed for middle pair. Butteroni had that beat with and the dealer pushed the pot in his direction.
Mark Radoja brought it in for a raise to 525 from early position before Piyush Gupta three-bet to 1,700 next to act. It folded back around to Radoja and he flicked in a call to see the flop fall .
Radoja checked to Gupta who continued for 1,200. The bet was met with a call and the appeared on the turn. It was checked through to the river where both players opted to check again. Radoja tabled while Gupta flashed .
Despite having the same holding the heart in Radoja’s hand meant he had the nut flush which was good to scoop the pot.
The player in the big blind checked his option on a flop prompting Angelina Rich to fire out a bet. The big blind then raised to 2,250 and Rich called.
The turn brought the and both players checked.
With the completing the board the big blind splashed out 4,600 and Rich called almost instantly.
The big blind then opened up his for a flush and took down the pot after Rich mucked her hand.
Samantha Abernathy just took her seat in the main event just before the second break of the day.
In her first hand, the player on the button raised to 500 and she called from the big blind.
The flop came and Abernathy checked. Her opponent threw out a continuation bet totaling 525. Abernathy called.
The turn brought the and both players checked.
The completed the board and Abernathy checked once again. The player on the big blind reached for his chips and tossed out 1,300. Abernathy paused before raising to 3,400. Her opponent didn't take long before three-betting to 12,800. Abernathy sat motionless for a moment then called.
The big blind then quickly rolled over for the nut straight and took down the pot after Abernathy mucked her hand.
Jeff Rossiter’s stack is still growing – this time he added to it by eliminating the man to his right.
We arrived at the table with the cards spread and the action three-handed. Rossiter was first in the small blind and he checked his option. After another check behind the player on the button moved all in for his last 6,000.
Rossiter eyed the all-in player and after a minute’s deliberation he committed to a call. The third player did the same and the pot was locked up. A snap-check from Rossiter on the river saw the other active player choose to check behind and the man at risk tabled for a bricked straight draw.
Flipping over Rossiter claimed the pot with three of a kind to send the player packing and amass some more chips for himself.
