Table 30 started with one familiar face in the shape of Simon Deadman before Celina Lin and Casey Kastle joined. Just now, Joseph Cheong joined the table as well, meaning it's the one to avoid if you're buying on or getting moved.
Over on table 32, Will Molson has taken his seat as well.
David Steicke was one of the new entrants in the AU$100,000 Challenge on Day 2 but he lasted just two hands. Not one to get down about it, he's jumped straight into the Main Event and is hoping for better luck.
When we passed by Table 44, Winfred Yu, the man behind the famed Macau "Big Game," pulled out his phone and showed us a picture.
"Double second hand," Yu said. As he told it, and he had the picture to prove it, the board read when his opponent bluffed the turn by shoving with the . Yu, who held the for a set, made an easy call and had his opponent drawing dead. The meaningless was put out on the river for good measure, and Yu was shipped the double, though he was quick to point out he lost 10,000 to a different opponent shortly thereafter.
Shyam Srinvasan was sat in disbelief after folding pockets kings on a flop but his opponent opened .
The Canadian was in the small blind and battling his big blinded opponent. Exactly 4,000 was in the middle and the big blind had all his remaining 14,775 chips over the line. Srinvasan tank-folded to leave himself with 34,000.
After seeing the aces, he said to the table, "I had kings! Pull them out of the muck if want."
Turning his attention to his opponent, he continued, "You could've got all my chips if you three-bet me preflop. Wow, can't believe I folded that!"
Over at Table 31, Kyle Cheong opened for 450 from middle position and Sam Cohen, who finished eighth in the Aussie Millions Main Event two years back, looked him up from the button. Chad Awerbuch called from the small blind, the player in the big came along as well, and four players took a flop of , which they all checked.
After the dealer burned and turned the , Awerbuch led out for 1,625, only Cheong called, and the completed the board on the river. Both players returned to checking and Awerbuch tabled the for a rivered straight. It was good as Cheong sent his cards to the muck unseen.
It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on the trio's chip stacks. Meanwhile, Mustapha Kanit has been seated at the table.
David Steicke lasted just two hands in the $AU100,000 Challenge and didn't last too much longer in the Main Event.
He was on the button and and battling the small blind. They had reached the turn with the board reading and the small blind led for 500. Steicke quickly moved all in for slightly fewer than 4,000 and was called.
Steicke: for second pair.
Small blind: for top pair.
The river came as the and Steicke quickly departed the room.
