$10,600 Main Event
Dia 1b Iniciado
Wind back the clock and reset the levels for Day 1b of the Aussie Millions Poker Championship Main Event. Yesterday attracted 183 players and at least that many are expected in the Crown Poker Room today.
Ami Barer played on Day 1a and is making a good fist at defending his title as he soared through with 142,900. He looked calm, collected and had a big smile across his face all day. The same could be said for Jan Suchanek and why not? He claimed the overall lead with 163,400.
The same couldn’t be said for those who busted, including: Maria Ho, Matt Ashton, [Removed:17], Chris Moorman and former champs Oliver Speidel and Lee Nelson. In total, 97 players made it through to Wednesday's Day 2.
Once again, the plan for the day is to play seven 75-minute levels with a 15-minute break after each. There will also be a 75-minute dinner break at the end of Level 4.
Day 2 of the $100k Challenge will be playing out from 2:15PM local time across the tournament floor and live updates can be found by clicking here. We’re expecting some of the players who bust throughout the day to jump into the Main Event, we’ll keep you posted on any movements.
Cards will be in the air at 12:30. Oh, and by the way, happy Australia Day!

Yesterday 2005 World Series of Poker Main Event champ Joe Hachem kicked off Day 1a with the traditional "shuffle up and deal," and today Julius Colman got the honors.
Colman, who played yesterday and advanced to Day 2, is a well-respected lawyer and business man, but also an accomplished poker player with nearly AU$1,000,000 in winnings. On top of it all, he is a noted philanthropist.
After making the final table of the 2007 Aussie Millions — where he ultimately finished in fourth place for AU$500,000 — he donated the entire prize to a school for significantly underprivileged children with a high migrant and refugee population.
His work with the disadvantaged children and communities was recently recognized in a unique way when the Government of Australia when he made the Australia Day Honors list. He was awarded an Order of Australia, called an A.M., and subsequently Crown Melbourne was excited to have him kick off the Day 1b festivities.
PokerNews joins the Crown in recognizing Colman for his accomplishments both on and off the felt. We'll see him again on Day 2, but for now cards are in the air here on the second starting flight of the 2015 Aussie Millions Poker Championship.
Around 100 players took their seats for the very beginning of play, that number is expected to grow as the levels progress.
Sam Cohen is sat in front of media row and already has her table chatting away. High stakes player Peter Chan is sat one table along from Cohen. He skipped the $100,000 Challenge yesterday and is feeling fresh for the Main Event. Andrew Chen didn't skip it and will need a deep run to get out of the whole he finds himself in.
Simon Deadman is one of the UK's hottest up and coming poker talents and he's playing along with his fiancee, Shola Akindele.

Andrew Chen has dropped a little from his starting stack after letting a hand go on the river.
He raised from the cutoff, bet the flop and bet 1,400 on the turn. The big blind stuck with him all the way and led out for 2,600 when the board read . Chen believed he was beat and mucked his hand.
Chen had an amazing 2014 which included him winning the EPT London High Roller event for $627,647 so an early knock will not faze him.

He came to prominence on the live circuit by making the 2014 PCA final table, finishing 6th for a cool $328,020. Fast forward a year later and he almost went back-to-back, busting just shy (10th) of the 2015 PCA final table for another $91,420.
These figures are dwarfed by what the Candian's achieved online. Under the handles "g's zee" and "s_dot111" he amassed a staggering $7,922,073 in recorded earnings!
Peter Chan is a regular in the Macau "Big Game," but today he's in Melbourne taking his shot in the Souther Hemisphere's most prestigious poker tournament. Unfortunately his first step was one in the wrong direction.
In a recent hand, Chan opened for 250 from early position and received a call from his opponent in the big blind. The flop saw the big blind check-call a bet of 300, and then both players checked when the turn put trips on the board. The completed the board on the river, and the big blind came out with a bet of 600, which Chan paid off.
The big blind tabled the for fives full of sevens, and it was good as Chan silently slid his cards to the muck.

Andrew Chen, not surprisingly, is continuing to be the most active player at his table. His stack dipped to start but he's recovered and sits on around 35,000. He can even win pots with king high.
The action folded around to him on the button and he raised. The big blind defended and also check-called a 250 bet on the flop. No more chips ventured into the middle as the turn and river were checked down.
Chen reluctantly opened and his opponent giggled saying it was good before mucking.
