As for the women on the team, Kara Scott, Vivian Saliba, and newest member Lucia Navarro Martinez will have to use a second bullet today if they want to keep their chances alive.
They will all be looking to chase down overall chip leader Mikel Gurrea who finished Day 1b with a whopping 420,000 chips. Gurrea is a local Spanish poker circuit regular and has plenty of experience when it comes to fighting for the chip lead. Some other notables to keep an eye on as the day unfolds include Alex Romero (288,000), and David Lappin (182,500).
The action is slated to get underway at 4 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming on level 10 at 1,000/2,000 and a 2,000 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 45 minutes in length throughout the day with a 20-minute break after every three levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day. Late registration will remain open until the end of level 13, giving plenty of opportunity for those looking to re-enter.
