Nagler's Shove Gets Through

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

Jan Nagler checked a flop of {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and another player bet 2,500. Cristofer Miñano called before Nagler also called.

Nagler clapped his hands together excitedly as the {3-Hearts} came on the turn and it checked to Miñano who bet 5,000. He got two callers and the river was the {6-Clubs}. Nagler again let out an excited noise before checking.

It checked to Miñano who bet 20,000. Nagler then announced raise and moved all in. He got two quick folds and gathered in the chips.

One Pair Good for Popov

Nível 4 : Blinds 300/500, 500 ante

A player opened and Slaven Popov made it 3,600 on the button. A player in the blinds called before the initial raiser attempted to raise, only for circumstances — and the tournament director — to dictate that it was just a call.

The flop was {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}. It checked to Popov who continued for 3,500 and the initial raiser was the only caller.

The pair checked down the {q-Hearts}{7-Spades} board, with Popov watching as his opponent showed {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} for ace-high. Popov had flopped top pair with {a-Spades}{8-Spades} and won the pot.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Remembers Shares Mirage Stories

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

Break

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

Players are going on their first 15-minute break of the day. The tournament clock shows 82 of 86 players remaining. When they return the blinds will be 300/500 with a 500 ante.

Ledesma Flops a Wheel

Nível 3 : Blinds 200/400, 400 ante

The flop was {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Manuel Ledesma watched as his opponent bet 6,500 from the small blind. Ledesma called and the turn was the {9-Spades}.

This time his opponent bet 8,000 and Ledesma raised to 18,000. His opponent called and the river was the {6-Hearts}.

The small blind checked and Ledesma bet 22,000. His opponent shrugged and flicked in a single chip to call. Ledesma turned over {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for a flopped wheel — having also improved to a six-high straight on the river — and took down the pot.
