Cintula Shows Spataru the Goods

Andrej Cintula raised to 18,000 on the button before Andrei Spataru three-bet to 42,000 in the small blind.

Cintula called and they went heads-up to the 2♣J♣2♠ flop. Spataru continued for 25,000 and Cintula called.

The turn came the 2♥ and Spataru bet another 45,000. Cintula took his time but called again to see the J♠ river.

Spataru slowed down and checked as Cintula fired out 86,000. Spataru quickly mucked.

"Did you have the jack," tablemate Ramzi Zuraikat asked Cintula as Cintula flashed a smile before showing the 2♦ for quads.

"That jack saved me," Spataru said, breathing a sigh of relief as he leaned back in his seat.

"That's a good loss. First time today quads that I've seen," Zuraikat added.

Axel Hallay opened to 13,000 on the button and received a single caller in Eric Tsai out of the big blind.

They checked the K♦8♣6♥ flop before Tsai then bet the K♥ turn for 18,000 as well as the J♥ river for 43,000. Hallay called both times and mucked when Tsai tabled the J♦8♥.

Miądzel Scores a Double

The cards of Nikolay Ponomarev were already in the muck and he paid off a double to table neighbour Stanisław Miądzel, who still had his 3♥3♠ exposed. That was good enough for a set of treys on the A♦6♦3♦8♥Q♣ board and Miadzel leaped above the average near the end of the penultimate level on Day 2.

Commotion After Commotion

It all started very calmly when Andrej Desset raised to 10,000 from the cutoff. Jens Lakemeier, who fired his first bullet at the last possible moment, sat in the big blind and made a three-bet to 50,000.

Some speech play then occurred, after which Lakemeier stated to Desset: "You already told me you are weak, you are just wasting time by not folding".

Some more words were exchanged between the two until eventually the clock was called. The floorman came over and gave Desset a countdown. Desset folded, but showed a player his cards so he was forced to table his A♠J♦.

Another player then claimed that he saw Lakemeier's cards when he picked them up, and the floorman also forced Lakemeier to show his hand according to the "show one, show all" rule.

Lakemeier was not happy with this decision, saying "I'm not showing this f***ing hand, you (to Desset) are forcing me to do this by acting like a f***ing idiot, so I'm not showing".

After some stern words by the floorman, the cussing subsided. The player who saw Lakemeier's cards eventually claimed it was ace-queen he saw. The floorman took a peek at the cards to confirm, and indeed tabled AxQx shortly thereafter.

Despite the shouting, no penalties were given out and play resumed as normal the next hand, although with some of Desset's chips in Lakemeier's stack.

Loeser Gets There on the River to Bust Ramos

Manig Loeser opened to 10,000 in the cutoff and Aliaksei Boika called on the button. Felipe Ramos then three-bet to 65,000 in the small blind and Loeser four-bet to 120,000.

Boika got out of the way, but Ramos pushed all in for around 190,000 and Loeser quickly called.

Ramos was ahead with his jacks as the flop came 10♦K♦3♠. The turn was the Q♣ and Ramos was one card away from securing a double up.

The J♣ river, though, gave him a set but Loeser a straight. Ramos took the bad beat well and gave Loeser a fist bump before making his exit.

Covaciu Five-Bets Against Hallay

The initial raiser had already folded when Paul Covaciu three-bet to 35,000 and Axel Hallay then four-bet to 80,000 on the button with the action back on Covaciu. After one minute of consideration, the Romanian grabbed into his stack and made it 175,000 to go, which forced out Hallay.

Rudolph Scores a Double Knockout
