Just before the break, another hand was played which ended during the break.
A player in middle position raised to 14,000, JJ Liu called from the cutoff. Emil Ekvardt three-bet to 48,000, and Andy Frankenberger needed some more time to think. The break started, so some of the players walked away from the table. In the end, he shoved all in. The player in middle position and Liu both folded. Ekvardt called, and he had Frankenberger covered.
Andy Frankenberger:
Emil Ekvardt:
The board ran out — no danger for Frankenberger, and he doubled up for the 312,500 he had behind.
Jack Allen raised to 16,000 from middle position, and Andreas Uribe asked how much he still had behind. Allen showed him his stack; Uribe had him covered and decided to shove all in. Allen called for the 175,000 he still had behind.
Jack Allen:
Andreas Uribe:
The board ran out to give Allen a flopped set of jacks, and he doubled up.
Samuel Phillips raised to 20,000 from the button, and Eugene Katchalov moved all in from the small blind for just under 150,000. The big blind folded, and Phillips called.
"What about Richard?" Kelly Minkin asked Jason Mercier. With former NFL player Richard Seymour at the table, the topic was baby names for Mercier's unborn son. A few other players murmured their approval before Denny Crum chimed in.
"I don't have any kids," Crum said, "But I did get a new snake recently."
The remaining players laughed.
"I kept on coming up with snake puns for their names, but there were too many that I liked. There was a top three, and then what I named it," he continued.
"Tell us your top three, and I'll tell you my favourite," said Kelly Minkin.
"Well there was Dick van Strike — I'm all in — Sir Hiss-a-lot, and the one I did go for, Justin Timbersnake," said Crum. His all in, which he announced partway through his serpentine monologue, was uncalled.
"Well, Justin Timbersnake is obviously the best!" replied Minkin.
Kyle Muelrath raised to 29,000 from middle position, Griffin Malatino called on the button, and Kework Besiktasliyan and Phil Collins called in the blinds.
The flop came , and both Besiktasliyan and Collins checked. Muelrath shoved all in, Malatino also shoved, and Besiktasliyan also decided to go all in. Collins had the choice but decided to stay out of this pot.
Malatino had flopped a set, Muelrath had a pair of eights, and Besiktasliyan had a flush draw.
The turn brought them the , and the river gave them the to complete the board and provide no change to the current situation. Malatino took the pot and eliminated two players in one hand.
