Welcome to the World of Ari Engel

Nível 6 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ari Engel (as seen in a previous event)

A poker nomad of his own, Ari Engel has been crushing the live scene everywhere in the world. A lot of discussions across poker media arose before the 2017 World Series of Poker. Is it the time for the WSOP Circuit legend to finally take down a bracelet event? Well, he's doing fine in the Tag Team tournament, at least.

Something told us things might get tasty on his table, and the gut feeling proved to be right. Engel was in the small blind and the action was on him after a raise to 1,000 from the player in the hijack and a call from the player in the cutoff. Engel fell into deep thought and then squeezed for 3,700. The original raiser folded, but a call from the cutoff followed.

The flop brought the {Q-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Engel continued for 2,300. His opponent acted quickly, putting in eight yellow chips worth a raise to 8,000. Engel looked at it but it didn't take him more than 30 seconds to announce he was all in. He knew he was in good shape when a request for a count followed, as he had only 6,800 more than the raise — a total of 14,800. The call button was pushed and cards were turned over. Engel showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} and was ahead against {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}.

Things got spicy when the {10-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, as Engel now needed to avoid any diamond card. But his two blockers were strong, and the brick in {3-Spades} sealed the huge double-up for the poker traveller.
