Lamb Takes from Van Der Spuy on the River

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy bet 12,000 on a flop of 7107 and Ben Lamb called in the big blind.

The turn came the 4 and Van Der Spuy continued for 15,000. Lamb raised to 58,000 and Van Der Spuy quickly called.

Both players checked the J and Lamb showed J986 for the rivered straight. Van Der Spuy flashed two kings before he mucked.

"Worse news is I was going to bluff it off on a deuce. If you called, which you probably would have," Lamb told Van Der Spuy after the hand.

Sinishtaj Doubles Through Van Der Spuy

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

In multiway action to the K52 flop with around 50,000 in the middle, Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy bet 33,000. Gjergj Sinishtaj then raised the pot and it folded back to the South African who announced all-in. Sinishtaj called and the cards were flipped over as Van Der Spuy jumped out of his chair, barely able to watch.

Gjergj Sinishtaj: KKQ9
Jean-Pierre Van Der Spuy: AA93

Van Der Spuy had aces with the nut flush draw but Sinishtaj was ahead with his top set. The 6 turn and 7 river ensured a big double for Sinishtaj worth 281,500.

Bleznick Shoves on Lisawad

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Jared Bleznick and Pakinai Lisawad went heads-up to the flop of 947 when Bleznick, in the cutoff, bet 65,000 and Lisawad called from the small blind.

The turn came the 7 and Lisawad checked again. Bleznick now pushed his entire stack forward, a bet of around 175,000, and Lisawad gave it some thought before folding.

"Show the bluff," Lisawad said and Bleznick tossed his cards over to him, exposing the A. "I was joking," Lisawad added as he didn't take the opportunity to peek at Bleznick's cards.

Duek Back in Action, Chops With Lisawad

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Jeffrey Housenbold has been eliminated after he saw his stack reduced to fumes and there was another all-in showdown one table over. On a completed board of J7310A, both Pakinai Lisawad with AKQ3 and Michael Duek with KQ109 had Broadway to chop it up.

For Duek, it is his second bullet in the tournament as he had been eliminated previously by Krasimir Yankov. Housenbold followed suit shortly after and reentered, too.

Schwartz Spikes the River on Housenbold

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Noah Schwartz bet 22,000 from the cutoff on a flop of 6Q4 before a player on the button raised to 110,000.

Jeffrey Housenbold called the raise as action went back on Schwartz. "Sometimes you've just got to die," Schwartz said before he also called.

The turn came the 7 and Housenbold led out for 135,000. Schwartz immediately called for around 80,000 and the button folded.

"I need to fade a club," Housenbold said, showing J766 for a set. Schwartz had KK33.

The river came the 10. "Or a diamond," Housenbold added after he noticed Schwartz had made a flush to double up.

Emmerson and Morris On the Rise

Nível 3 : Blinds 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Arthur Morris
Arthur Morris

In three-way action to the K93 flop, Krasimir Yankov in the big blind and Arthur Morris from under the gun checked. Robert Emmerson bet 10,000 on the button and Yankov was the only caller. Yankov check-called another 26,000 on the 5 turn and checked the 6 river.

Emmerson bet 66,000 and Yankov instantly tossed in a single chip for the call. The A974 of Emmerson won the pot with a seven-high straight as Yankov only flashed his cards to Morris with a grin on the face.

Soon after that, Morris tangled with Aaron Mermelstein in another larger pot. Morris led the K99 flop for 30,000 and Mermelstein called. The 6 turn brought a check-call by Morris for 45,000 and he led again the 3 on the river for 104,000.

Mermelstein used one time bank and folded.

"I might want that hat back," George Wolff said. He has apparently loaned his lucky white construction worker hat to Morris the day before in the $5,000 satellite when Morris had been short stack, after which both then won their entry at a bargain.
