A completed board was spread across the felt at one table with three players seated thus far. The small blind led out with a bet of 600 and the big blind threw in a raise to 3,000.
"This is limit," one player said. "You can only raise to 1,200."
"What does that mean?" the big blind questioned, clearly unaware that he registered a limit hold'em event.
The rules were explained to him and he was able to scoop the pot after changing his raise to the legal amount of 1,200.
"I wouldn't have played if I knew that."
